i have an 02 gt, and i was looking for a valve cover gasket, then some prompt came up about different engine code. it seems that the X engine code means Windsor, or something along those lines. but what is different about an x engine code, a W, or a 9? thanks

thanks, but that didnt really help me much, i have an 02, and it hardly said anything about my motor. unless everything from the 99+ applies to my motor, im still in the same position. at the end of the second article it stated that late 2001 to present had different water pump design, so could that mean that other parts are different as well? i was hoping that the different engine code would tell me why i beat another 02 gt with the same mods as me by at least a second, multiple times. thanks again

Perhaps asking that question to begin with would've helped. You have a romeo block, and the only notable change through the years 99-04 was the water pump pulley change, and the oil plug in the oil filter housing. The reason the windsor block was used at one point was because of a fire in the Romeo plant.

You beat the other car with the same mods because 2 equal cars racing is a drivers race (better driver wins.)
