So I just installed the UPR K-member for my 85 GT. I also have the 79-93 A-arms from QA1, but I have a problem. If you listen to all the hype about steering geometry then I need to get the Steeda X2 balljoints to correct the alignment problems from lowering the vehicle.
The problem is that you can't run the X2 balljoints with aftermarket A arms. I have a set of 96 spindles so should I get factory 96 A arms and install the X2 balljoints. Steeda says they don't even run tubular A arms on their race cars. So I'm thinking I sell the A arms, buy factory pieces from a 96, install the X2 balljoints and bump steer kit and call it good. If I do this, all I need to buy is a front brake conversion kit from Baer or something. Any of this make sense to you guys?

steeda doesnt use tubular arms. But they are firm believers in the bumpsteer and c/c plates and the x2's.

you have a bbf in your car as well so go with a 94+ cobra setup and that would work really well, if you buy from steeda ill have it shipped the same day you order..

Yeah, thats what he told me. He sounded almost weirded out when I mentioned them. I just thought it was strange considering that so many people talk about the tubular A arms, and so many people lower their cars, but nobody talks about these balljoints not being compatible.
This will be my setup, I have about half the parts so far: UPR chromemoly K-member, Ford Racing stamped A arms, Steeda X2 balljoints, Competition Engineering bumpsteer kit, 96 Spindles, offset prothane rack bushings, Flaming River manual rack and pinion, Cobra rotors, calipers and master cylinder.
Watcha think?

Sold the QA1 K-member and tubular A-arms, and installed the UPR chromemoly K-member and stock 95 control arms with the X2 balljoints. Just waiting on the 95 spindles and cobra M/C.

Do not run 94-04 lower control arms on a fox. They will push the wheels out past the fenders and look stupid. Just install new bushings and ball joints in your stock fox body control arms.
