hey guys my drivers side headlight is beginning to get yellow but it is from water inside of the light casing. I was thinking of taking the light out and putting some bleach on the inside and letting it sit for a while then dry it out and re seal it with some silicone. i have heard of sanding and polishing the outside of the light but i know that wont do anything because the yellowness is on the inside. i know there are others with this problem and i just wondered if anyone had a solution. thanks

yeah buy some new ones... you can get them about 40 bucks for one or about 110 for all 6 of em new... make sure you seal em if you get some new ones with 100% silicone.. or atleast thats what i used... so no water gets in....

I dont give a crap what anyone says, you can not buff out or polish those pieces of crap. Buy some new ones cheap from Ebay, but get raped on the shipping charges; they all do that. You can not get that yellow crap out of your lenses so dont try. People on here will tell you all sorts of snake oil tricks, but none of them work, period.

Just buy one piece headlights :nice:

WOW!
Those single piece units look good, Blake! I thought they would look stupid based on the E-bay pics I saw but on the car they work.:nice:

You can clean up SLIGHTLY yellowed lenses with mild polish that is made for plastic with LOTS of elbow grease. But if they are too far gone, crusty & dried out etc. it's pretty much a lost cause. They will come clean but they just won't look right.

Pony up the $100 or so for cheapy stockers. It will make a HUGE difference on how your car looks!

actually you can get the yellow of the outside, but it'll take some time, and equipment... if you've got the money, buy new ones, seen as low as $99 a set. I made mine a lot nicer with some scotch pad, compound and a D.A. with a buff pad. do those single piece headlights install easy or is it the same or harder?

Yeah nothing beats new ones but using wheel polish with a rag does wonders.

Takes them from milky yellow to clear with a very subtle yellow tint. And with some 9000iso halogens in there they illumintae nice and bright white, no yellow.
