Doesn't really add much to your engine bay, but if it were painted (there's a new idea!) I think it would look better and not so..."tacked on".

Somewhat unrelated, but why did you ditch your wiper motor? It's obviously a nice weather car, but what if you get caught in the rain?

I live in San Diego

It rains like 10 times a year, the wipers have been off the car for well over 10 years.

Lucky. I won't be mounting my wipers either, but thanks to the wonderful northeast, I'll need to keep them in the trunk just incase.

Oh, I like the almuminum plate. I definitely won't hate it if you paint it either.

Ah San Diego, historians lost the translation hundreds of years ago, but many believe it translates into "a whales vagina"

^Yep. and painting a panel like that off the car is cake. Lay it on sawhorses and spray. Just scuff it with some 400 grit, prime, scuff agan and paint. Cake.

Give me your car. I offer you nothing in return, I just need to own it.

I like the panel a lot, Scott Rod puts out some pretty nice stuff and having fabbed up, if you can even call it that, dash panels and interior panels in that exact same style before, at $40 a piece it's a pretty good deal for you and old Scott is making a killing on materials and labor. Win-win. I say keep it

I'd like it more if it was symmetrical, and if it actually wasn't so shiny. I think it draws too much attention. Paint it body color and run with it.

FWIW I think painting it but leaving the raised strip in silver would look pretty slick. It'd match on both accounts and would tie itself in very nicely IMO.
