My '90 GT is having this issue where it will crank all day but won't start. I recently replaced the distributor and coil with MSD distributor and coil. Shortly after I installed said MSD items my Moates Quarterhorse decided it only wanted to hold a tune for a few hours, so whenever I wanted to drive it I'd just reload the tune and joyride. I noticed that sometimes the car would crank and crank and crank and I could go out the next day and the car would start and run perfect. I sent my failed Quarterhorse in for repair and they sent me a new one, so I loaded the tune to the QH and now it just cranks and cranks and cranks. I removed the QH and tried to start it, no change. I switched back to the stock coil, no change, tested voltage at the coil and got 12v, tested voltage at the red injector wire and got 12v. I did pull codes and got 85, 10, 11. I haven't tested spark yet but I will tomorrow or Saturday.
I did notice something that struck me odd, when I turn the ignition on the fuel pump primes, then when you crank the engine and let off the key the fuel pump doesn't re-prime. It's supposed to re-prime after turning the engine over isn't it? Would this have anything to do with the ignition switch? Any other suggestions for testing?
