Yup everything made it through the storm. I even managed to survive a few days in a house with no power with my wife. I'm surprised I'm not dead.

got power back
spent all day yesterday in the Hollywood ER with my father in law- heat stroke and dehydration. the place was wall to rwall with people from the heat
They still have no power or water and are with us now until they get restored
5 people DIED today at the nursing home across the street from the hospital we were at- they had no power or AC ad did not evacuate any of the patients- people are going to jail over this i gaurantee
Still no power all over and many places under water

Allen- I am so sorry to hear of the damage but I can tell you from experience that you had any water in the house or walss you need to rip out all of that drywall, carpeting, etc and start from the studs and foundation or you will have mold eventually, and probably the wiring needs to be redone, and the HVAC system cleaned. I've dealt with this in buying homes here in S florida. You do not want to mess with any chance of mold. Sorry to say, but imo this will not be a quick fix.

I've found most insurance companies try and screw you- they will try not to pay to do it right. It might pay to hire a third party inspector asap- I used one down here when I purchased REO's and they get a % of the money you get from the insurance company. They know all the tricks of the trade, all the insurance companies, will fight for you and will get you a lot more money- they more than pay for themselves in my experience.
