My favorite songs while driving are: Fuel by Metallica, I can't Drive 55 by Sammy Hagar, Highway Star by Deep Purple, Cars by Gary Numan, Mean Machine by Sugar Ray, Never Surrender by Lion, Black Sunshine by White Zombie, Heading Out to The Highway by Judas Priest, More than a Feeling by Boston and Miami Vice theme by Jan Hammer

I would much rather listen to "nag" by the wife than "screaming" from when my kids were younger.

Otherwise the music basically stays on classic or hard rock.

Superbeast - Rob Zombie
Wherever I May Roam - Metallica
Up In Smoke - Blackberry Smoke
The Island Part 2 & Through The Loop - Pendulum
Adrenalize - In This Moment
Pass The Peas - Maceo Parker
Who Am I - Snoop Dogg

I forgot about Radar Love another classic song. Highway Star not only cool lyrics but there's a part in the song that Jon Lord's organ sounds like a turbo charger kicking in. Overall an over the top song.

Ok the psychologist in me is coming out.

A study of how different music affects your driving habits. This could be huge. First I will need tuition to get my doctorate, this will be my dissertation. Oh and a large grant to fund my research.

Step 1....analyze music based on the speed of the tempo, rhythm, lyrics, etc. Everything from classical to heavy metal. Break it all down into maybe about 20 test songs.

Step 2....a realistic car simulator. One able to track speed, acceleration, turning g-force, etc.

Step 3...recruit participants. They have to be a wide sample of different ages, genders, races, etc. Probably need at least 500 to get a good random sample.

Step 4....design a pre and post questionnaire to limit the affect of other factors. Things like what is your stress level, how are you feeling, etc. If you analyze those from before and after you can eliminate the effects on the true test in the statistical analysis. This way the data will show the effect of the music and it the extraneous variables.

Step 5....randomize chit and stick these suckers in the simulator. Play music. See how they drive.

I'm guessing no one has read this far...
