Well, today was a decent day for Doby (Dirty Old B***h). I dropped the rear end out and took off the
control arms.
I spent the next two hours cleaning the whole back end underneath side, my car is called Doby for a reason. I scrubbed with brushes and scotchbrites and then took a bucket of hot soapy water and started washing the underneath side.
Lots and lots of red Oklahoma dirt. I displaced at least four more mud dauber nests and several spider nests.
I had to stop twice to sweep the floor out so my creeper would keep rolling, jeez, a car wash before tear down might have been a smart thing, huh?
So, anyhow, here are pictures, how about those spring isolators?! I've ordered new prothane ones.
I'll be pulling out the old fuel and brake lines this week, you'll see the old ones in the photo.
I'm almost considering painting up to the transmission/driveshaft tunnel the same red as the outside. I'm trying to decide if the smell of the paint will offend my neighbors a bunch or not. I'll need to do it before I put the differential back in. Hummmmm.......
So now I just need to wait for the UPR reinforcement kit to get here and I will weld them in.
