Will These Wheels Fit?

My 1991 LX 5.0 was converted to a 5 lug setup by the previous owner. I want to buy some new wheels. The ones I am looking at are for a "94 to 2005 mustang" They are 5 lug. Will they fit?

yes 94-04. dont know about '05 i think the offset is different. So I wouldn't go with 17x9's from an '05. I could be wrong. Won't be the first time.

Depends, does it actually have SN95 spindles, or the cheesy lincoln rotors?

Im not sure.. Is there a way to tell? Its got drums in the rear.

The wheels on it now are 17's. They look like 96 cobra wheels, but im not sure.

Im looking at a set of 4 Gunmetal Saleen pony wheels. 18X10 and 18X9. Could get all 4 for about 420 bucks, so its a pretty good deal.

If you have a sealed bearing Hub up front then you have the SN95 Style and will be able to fit all the factory wheels. It sounds like you may have the Cheesy Lincoln set up in which case your wheel selection is very limited.

Sorry for being such a noob, but how do I identify a sealed bearing hub?

Amazing how i completed an AOD to TKO swap, and yet still know nothing about a lot...

it depends if the rotor comes off over the studs, or the studs are part of the disk with a big dust-cap in the middle. The one with the studs attached is the cheesey Lincoln conversion, which i have on my car. The 96 cobras will work with this, but there are many other factory wheels that will not directly bolt up due to that dust cap bein in the way

Not to run off on a rabbit trail, but I love the look of those tri-bar wheels on your red GT. Wanted to use the same ones to 5 lug my '91, which never did happen. Nice smooth looking car... I'm glad to hear you wash it.

So i have to take the wheel and the dustcap off to tell?

Edit: Well acutually the fact that I can see the big dust cap kind of gives away the fact that I have the Mark VIII setup. Correct?

Ok so assuming that i have the cheesey style setup with the ranger axles and the mark VIII rotors....

I found a set of SN 95 spindles for a reasonable price. So if I buy these will i also need new axles? If so which ones do i need? and where can i find them?

Also will the 5 lug drums on the back fit with the 18X10's?

I have my heart set on these wheels and, the SN 95 setup would be an upgrade anyway...

the ranger axles will work fine with either spindle, so youre good on that, and the drums will fit just about any wheel, theyll just be ugly. if youre going to do sn95 spindles, i would also do either a 99+ rotor/caliper or cobra all the way around. there are brackets around that let you use the axels you have now with the newer rear discs.

Sounds good. So ill buy the new spindles and that should be fairly straight forward. Will my stock brake lines work ok with the new spindles? Anything else to worry about?

Read http://sn95brakes.com , the 5 lug section. Matt covers all the things you need for the front and rear conversions on his website. Depending on what you change to, there are many other things you need to upgrade (MC, PV, Ebrakes, etc if going rear disc, booster, and more)

That's like asking if a V8 engine will fit in a Mustang
