TFS TrackHeat & T5 questions

if she's a tranny then... well I'd do her.... it..
Okay, well it's nearing the time when I will be investing in the Trick Flow TrackHeat top end kit. If anyone here knows about it, I need some advice. What else is recommended when I'm changing this out? Everything is stock on my 1992 GT except I have BBK Long Tubes. Will my headers still bolt up ( i wouldn't see why not )??

My next question pertains to my stock T5 ( 93k on everything ). If i'm cruising along, let's say 35mph, and I go to put it into 1st gear, say I'm stopping, I hear a clunk/thud. I can feel it in my seat and through out the car. Any idea?

Thanks!

The T5 noise is the death rattle of a transmission suffering severe abuse. A downshift into 1st at 35 MPH tries to spin the clutch disk up to 4000 RPM or more. That is very hard on the syncros.

The new heads/intake will shift your power band upward significantly. I would recommend that you invest in some gears (3.55 or 3.73) before you install the new heads/intake. Otherwise you will never get the engine wound up enough to take advantage of all the high RPM power the new combo will make.

If you're downshifting into that much rpm, you really need to be using your foot on the gas pedal while you're between gears to bring the rpms up rather than letting the transmission do it for you. You'll make a new transmission old real fast otherwise.

Thanks, I asked one my mechanics here and he said the same thing. Not neccesarily going to need a new transmission in the next couple months but I definetly shouldn't try to do that anymore ( BTW, this is my first 5 speed so bear with me :p )

As far as the H/C/I swap goes, do you think I should upgrade injectors? Throttle body? Fuel pump? Regulator? Anything else?
