another good car movie with some cool "chase" scenes was a movie made in the early 80's called "King of the Mountain" it had Dennis Hopper and Mark Hamlin and had a ton of cool cars including a 69 Mach 1, a 63-67 vette and an early Porsche Speedster. one of my favorite car movies of all time.
I have a tape of that movie that I taped off HBO a zillion years ago. I drag it out every now and again just to watch the Mulholland drive stuff. My goal is to take my fastback to Mulholland someday and put a video camera in the car as I drive the whole length. One of the guys I work with used to live in L.A. and he thinks I'm nuts, but after reading about that stretch of road for years, I gotta do it. Anyway, the actor in the 356 Porsche was Harry Hamlin, not Mark. Also, remember the scene where Dan Hagerty calls Hamlin into his office and shows him a photo of himself? I swear it looks like he's sitting in a '65 Shelby Mustang in the photo. I wish I had it on DVD so I could zoom in, maybe someday I'll find it on DVD.
that's what i get for posting late i guess. yes Harry Hamlin is correct i have no idea who Mark Hamlin is, LOL.
for some reason i always confuse 2 people when i'm typing, i seem to that a lot lately. i was probably thinking about Mark Hamil and "Corvette Summer" when i typed that and combined their names. i do that a lot with Bill Goldberg as well and sometimes call him Steve Goldberg, combining his name and Steve Austin's i guess. probably has something to do with getting older LOL
