Whats the difference, putting a new rack in my car, I have a 93 LX, but I ordered the GT "sport" one or w/e, supposedly the "high performance" version, any real differences? I heard there actually is some. Thanks

i put one in recently too and it didnt reallly make it too much tighter...

i recall a post somewhere (probably in the 94-95) but people are using 03 cobra steering shafts (i think).

are they REALLY supposed to help kinda like switching to a solid one, or is that not at all for a fox ??

just curious lol

First off, sorry for being redundant before - dial-up and your quick postings caused a delay (there were no replies when I loaded the page :rlaugh: ).

IWMC, You are correct. Mine just arrived and looks pretty decent. The SN's seem to eat rag joints more than Fox III's do. I'm about positive that the Terminator shafts only work on 94+ cars though.

Ive blown 2 power steering rack and will be the first to tell you that there is no big difference at all. Just one stamped with ford and 1 trd i believe. But some LX's had the sport steering rack so its nothing special..

To add a bit to RSG1987's post:

When I went for a rack for the '88 GT vert, there were 4 options. Ford and TRW - standard and sport versions of each. I had the Ford Sport (the part number is where the steering shaft attaches to the rack).

From what I gather, the TRW racks were rare in Aero foxes.

In most parts store computers, GT = 5.0L and LX = 2.3L.

Don't even bother telling them you have a 5.0L LX, the computer sometimes spits out the wrong numbers.

If you have a 5.0 LX, just get into the habit of asking for parts for a GT. WIll save a lot of confusion
