Smokin 1993 Cobra

I have no clue what could have started your car on fire, but there is a video on YouTube with another Mustang fire that started inside the cabin of the car. It sounds similar to yours. I can't access YouTube from work to post a link, but if you search for "joe" and "Mustang fire" it comes up. He was beating the **** out of the car before it caught fire.

Thanks all. Well, insurance paid off yesterday. It was not what the car is worth, but should be enough to fix most of the damagel. I plan on doing most of it myself, so the funds should last a while. Still no idea what caused the fire. I just got the car home today and will begin gutting the interior soon and looking for any possible clues. Someone asked if I had an alarm and the answer is yes, but it is a Ford factory alarm. Any advice on wiring one of these little jewels?

JMHO, but 9 times out of ten its usually faulty wiring. This does not have to be from someone stripping wire and not taping it back up properly either. All you have to have is one wire (+) come lose and touch ground and a spark will start the carpet a blaze. Before working hard putting everything back together I would go through and thuroughly check all wiring...or if wires were burned be sure they are replaced with painless wiring or a good name brand wiring.

Good luck and hope all works out for you.
Put up a couple pics as we would like to see what kind of damage is done.

That guy drivin the GT is an idiot.

Sorry to hear about the cobra. Especially because it's a real cobra. I would check with your insurance company though. Now that you have had a fire is the vehicle a "right off" ? The reason I ask is will you have a problem if you fix it and decide to one day sell it will there be any legal problems with doing so? Where I live anytime a vehicle suffers fllod or fire damage they are sold for scrap or parts only cars through auctions.
