Widest T/W package for my 73 vert

I have searched and searched but cant get a first hand example.
I would like to know how big a wheel/tire and B/S setup you guys have been succesful with on the 71-73's. I am willing to drop the ride height for the right stance.

Well on my 73 Mach 1 im running 215/65R15's on 15x7's on the front and 295/50R15's on 15x8's on the rear. I'm not sure of my backspacing but I can check it out and let you know. What size wheels are you wanting to use?

Thinking about 17" or 18". Probably the new Shelby series from American Racing

I've got a set of 17" wheels off a 94 cobra on my stang. There's plenty of room in the wheel well, but because of the backspacing difference I had to install 1" spacers on the front wheels. I could only afford one pair at the time.

I've since added a set of those spacers to the rear too.
