Blower question

You would need to fab a custom intake manifold.

This question has been getting asked a lot lately.

I have seen a V-6 that had the M112 installed on it but it required some custom fabrication.

You would be better off to buy a blower designed for your application unles you have some real fabrication skills.
 
Killy, I think your confusing the GT and Mach1. it will fit the mach 1, but you'll need the lower intake and the complete belt drive assembly. you can find them from time to time when guys go to a TT seup on the 03's for about 2500.

it is alot of work, but if you think about it, after thats done then your ready to go with the bug KB or whatever else.

KB only makes a 2.1H for our style 4valve,.. it has been running through my mind to get this setup and use the 03 2.8h upgrade KB instead of the Eaton.

it would cost about the same as the 2.1H kit and make a ton more power.

check some classifieds and maybe even post a wanted ad for the copmplete driveline.. hell a guy may want to swap with toy if he is going TT.
 
Yeah, centri's. Full boost with a roots at 2,000 rpm on what is basically a GT block with 10:1 c/r is asking for trouble. Cylinder pressures are going to be through the roof.

You'd better keep the boost down around 5 psi.
 
cuz i plan on getting a 04 cobra next spring, and will probably upgrade it to a turbo setup in the future. Right noe, my 5.0 Block is cracked, and i was wondering if i got a Mach one engine for cheap, id be able to used the blower in the future...id keep the mach 1 engine stock for now in my fox, but id save money this way...i think..
 
so your saying KB has sold kits to people all over america that are not safe to run?


I'm not argueing to argue but I think your taking the CR issue a touch to the extreme. 10:1 is fine with a PD blower as long as the IAT is low and the timing is dialed in.... KB would not sell a kit that is unsafe to that extreme. the liability is to high.

I guess I should clarify what I mean by safe. My viewpoint is a bit skewed to the OEM way of doing things. Safe to me means totally worry free.

Aftermarket companies don't have to run durability tests for their products. They build and tune an engine until they get the numbers they want, and then throw their kit at the public, who promptly eats it up. They also are not liable for what you do with it after you buy it. When is the last time KB or any other blower kit company was sued for damage caused to an engine using their kit after 10,000 miles? Buyers accept the risk.

There is no argument that the stock rods and pistons in the Mach are not capable of handling that much power for very long. Not to mention the cheap aluminum bearings.

From all the data collected by FoMoCo, 10 psi with 10:1 c/r is too high. If it were perfectly "safe" to do so, why wouldn't SVT do it. The engines seem to be capable of it, but over the course of time, there will be failures.

All that being said, the first rule of modding is "You gotta pay to play", right?

oh.. I have gone BIG hehe.. .but I also went BOOM a few times... guess thats what happens when you push things to the limit. I still havent learned my lesson though, it is time to go BIGGER again.

twin 67's and air to air with methanol should do the trick :D

I especially like the part where they say "in no event shall the liability of Kenne Bell, Inc. exceed the price of the product on which such liability is based"...so if you blow up your beloved aluminum block and a piece of it gets lodged in the s/c casing, they miiiiiight pay.....for the case. :rlaugh:
