Running a 1k watt AMP I have had no issues with Steeda UDPs even at night with the lights on, in the winter with the heat on (or summer with the AC on) all at the same time, bass maxed.
No issues, period.
And yes gains WERE noted, not SotP gains, but I could drive up certain hills with less effort.

if it's an automatic, i wouldn't recommend it. when i had the FRPP pulleys on my GT, you could see the headlights dim when the car idled.

I have 2 amps, a capacitor and a subwoofer. I'm afraid of trying underdrive pullies.
I want to upgrade my car into being supercharged one day so I'll keep my same pulley.

What's your continuous power level though on your 1000 watt amplifier?
My 800W mono-amp states "800" as max power, but only runs at 360 of continuous power at 2 ohms.
Amp manufacturers get tricky there advertising a high peak output that hardly anyone can run since the continuous power is usually most always lower than the advertised peak power.

You can either get a better alternator, OR you can get your underdrives and just keep the stock pully on the alternaror and run the other 2 and shouldnt have any problems with the lights dimming.. If its an auto i wouldnt bother... Just my .02

So you are saying the skills and tools of a backyard mechanic are equal to that of the mechanics at Steeda and Saleen?If udp are suck a waste of money, and not worth anything. How come Saleen uses them? or what about Steeda??

$200 for ~4-5hp. awesome 
saleen and steeda use them b/c they're an easy "mod" to bolt on to a car to sell for a high cost at a dealership. if you tell some guy, "oh this GT mustang has a body kit, racing suspension and underdrive pulleys, stainless steel exhaust and a special saleen 'power tune,'" its easier to get them to pay $50K for a N/A GT.
