Okay, so I purchased the GT500 bumper conversion kit from a local Detroit Ford dealer. After installation, I now have an airbag light on my dash. The wiring harness that was provided has 4 unused connections. Can anyone offer information as to which connection is for the airbag system? Also, are the unused connections unnecessary, or do all of them have a mating connection?

I believe what most of us did is splice the fog lamp connectors off the new wiring harness onto the old GT wiring harness that's already on the car. I know it's a waste of money for the new harness, but the fog lamp connectors are required to plug into the new fog lamps in the bumper. Make sure you have extra wire and reroute fog lamp portions of the wire to reach the fog lamps which are down lower in the bumper. Did mine last year and absolutely no wiring issues or problems at all.

I never considered the possibility that the new GT500 wiring harness wouldn't work properly. Your suggestion is a feasible option for sure. Putting the old harness on would be more work, but I think I'd rather do that that start splicing connections and mating wires.

Thanks.

Following your suggestion, I reinstalled the original wiring harness and spliced/extended the fog light wiring. This resolved the airbag light issue.
