i changed my tps, iac, iat...cleaned the maf...i have an accerlation/loss of power problem...when you step on the gas she wont go....any other ideas?

2000 gt 5 speed...x pipe with cats cold air

always worth a go, careful with the fuel though, it stings like a b***h when it gets in your eyes...

I would think any idiot would know to try and attempt to not let fuel drip on them.

But stang girl, when you try and go, does it more like sputter and feel a little powerless? If so, my car started doing the same thing. Some new copper plugs fixed that one. But make sure your coil on plugs are pressed all the way down and the connectors are on good before you change something you may not need to, although it wont hurt.

As these other guys said change the fuel filter and plugs

If that don't fix it try to get a fuel pressure gauge and monitor the fuel pressure while you get on it. If it drops then you might have a fuel pump or fuel rail pressure sensor issue..

Many time with a fuel pump concern it will run ok at light throttle but stumble right on it's face at WOT

In addition, have your intake manifold looked at. I notice you have a 2000, those came with the plastic coolant crossover that is prone to failure. When mine cracked on my 2000, it cracked on the bottom by the thermostat housing and I couldn't see it. It leaked coolant into my #5 spark plug hole and caused it to miss really bad, and it didn't throw a code. So depending on the symptoms you have, you might want to have that looked at.

I am going through the same thing. Every symptom I can I have read about points my problem to MAF!

I will run with my IAC DISCONNECTED, and the idle hangs at 1200. No air leaks whatsoever!

Driving around normally works ok, it feels down on power for normal driving. But when you get on it the car will hit a certain RPM and completely shut down. The check engine will come on real quick, but then go away and then the car comes back to life.

The throttle body is closing fully and not sticking. When you disconnect the car when the MAF is running the car dies instantly if it is up to normally operating temp. Under norm (closed/open loop - not sure which is which) temp the maf can be disconnected and it will idle good.

The IAC has been changed with numerous known good ones.

I'm going to replace my o2 sensors and fuel filter.

I have a 93 lincoln mark viii with a DOHC 4.6 and it does teh same exact thing. I put a new fuel filter and new plugs in 2 months for this started doing it so I eliminated them from my thoughts. Then I replaced the fuel pump with a 255 walbro. Replaced the injectors still did it. Replaced IAC (major PITA on my car) and EGR Valve (also major pita), still doing the same thing. If any of you guys figure something out let me know thanks. I think it could be my coil packs so I will try that next.

If it runs with the iac disconnected you have a vacuum leak. Air is getting in there somewhere. Keep looking

well guys...its the intake manifold....two coils gone...i know im going to get some slack...but i think its time to buy an import since ford doesnt want to take responsiblity for the crappy faulty parts they put on their cars....

Import cars do not get the warranty honored after it has expired either

COPs are about $49 each I believe.

How do you know they are bad?

What exactly do you mean by "its the intake manifold"?

If you want to sell your soul..... No reason for it though, I'd much rather take pride in pushing my Ford than drive any of those japanese crap cars that people buy because their "good on gas". Either that or switch to chevy.
:flag:

Did the all plastic intake manifold crack, leaking radiator fluid onto the coils, causing them to get shorted/work poorly? Very common problem. It can be fixed by replacing the coils and PI intake (with aluminum crossover) for <500, but that sucks anyway you slice it.

The settlement helped quite a lot of people, but IMO, Ford should have gone all the way with this quality issue and covered all, no matter when they had the issue. I don't blame you for moving over to imports with the way Ford handled this quality issue, (if this is what happened to you of course)
