What should we do while in Dallas? (nightlife)

The 311 & Matisyahu concert is tomorrow night. Me and a buddy are driving over from Louisiana to go to the concert, and go hit some bars later that night.

Question:

Where around dallas (close to the smirnoff centre) should we go to hang out and drink a few? We are going to leave the car at the hotel, and cab it anywhere we go, so id like to stay somewhat locally.

We have heard that Deep Ellum is cool, along with something called Dallas Alley... but ive never been to either. I would like to go somewhere that has some decent bars within walking distance of each other.

You could dodge bullets? Deep ellum is a total ghetto now, it was pretty cool a few years ago. I wouldn't be caught dead there now.

haha yeah deap ellum sucks. most of the bars are 17+ too, so there's a lot of younger kids.
