Is Carfax still the best option when finding history report?

Ive seen others out there.. like autocheck. And heard of dealer oasis report.
But is CarFax still the best option to check a vehicles history report?

i just ask my uncle...he can go though the DMV and get me info if i need it...police records for that car ect..i can even get past owners names if i want.
