New Car Order Status Check?

Is there a way to check on the status of a new car order other than calling the dealer?

i called a buddy at a ford dealer, and he gave me a number to call. try this one:

1-800-392-3673, and you will need the VIN.

i know others have needed a DORA, but that may have been a different phone number. there might also be a number that dealers only can call and get information, but this is the info i have received so far. maybe 5 oh brian can chime in with better info.
