The 2007 Official College Football Thread

so, one thing i havent seen mentioned much... who you guys picking for heisman?

obviously you know my opinion, but i think it is a majority opinion not just fan based.

Tim Tebow broke Danny Wuerffel's record for most touchdowns in a season
He broke Emmit Smith's record for rushing touchdowns in a season
He is 3 away from holding the most rushing touchdowns BY ANY PLAYER EVER in a season

simply put, Tebow is awesome. he is like 75% of our total offense, and the most versatile player on the field. he deserves it far more than any other player can come close to. the sad part is, him being a sophomore will probably prevent him from getting it, simply because "he can get it later" :(

even though tebow far more deserves it, i have a feeling dennis dixon will get it, due to being a senior, and having less losses

He wont win because you have 3 loses and he is a Sophmore.

Id say right now Dixon is the front runner. If they win out he will win. Tebow will win next year if FL does well.

Well, that was weird....WVU beat Louisville...barely...and they were unranked, but we moved up a spot or two in the rankings

That was a pretty sloppy win on our part, in fact it looked a lot to me like last year's game against USF where WVU pretty much gave the game away (fumbles, etc).

The Big East looked good back about the middle of the season, but everyone's been so busy whacking each other in the kneecaps, it doesn't look very impressive. WVU, UConn, and Cincinnati are still ranked but Cincy and Uconn are near the bottom of the barrel.

Upsets so far in the big east:

USF beat WVU
Rutgers beat USF
Louisville beat Cincinnati
Cincinnati beat Uconn

And so on and so forth. WVU has cincinnati coming up this week and they better win this one and look like they should.

The Big East is as bad as the Big 10. Your team is good like OSU but other that, just a few descent ones.

yeah, unfortunately, the award doesnt go to "the best player in college football," as it is supposed to....

instead, it goes to "the best upperclassman on the best ranked team." which is crap

well, ****, tebow just might take over the heisman again.....

i just turned on the tv, and dennis dixon has a twisted knee, and is out for the game (probably longer). while i DO NOT wish players to get hurt, and hope dixon has a speedy recovery (especially if they are to play in the national championship), it's nice that tebow could now win!

I still dont think he has a shot really. Doesnt mean he doesnt deserve to win it though. The votes go out this week aparently, at least that is what they said in the game yesterday night. Honestly Id give the award to Mike Hart, he has been incredible even when UM has been terrible.

I still think Dixon has a good shot, he looked great until he got hurt. But if McFadden has a huge game this week he will have an awesome shot at it too. Unfortunatly like alot of awards if you have a huge game close to when the votes go out you have a great shot to win it. IE Doug Flutie and the miracle pass.

So another 2 goes down to an unraked team. Five this season.

I think Dixon will still ride if he can come back. If he can't then McFadden has a good November and it's his. Tebow just has the sophomore tag so I don't think he will win everyone over.

*sigh*

UGA got lucky, and pulled off the win, UF is now not going to be able to be in the SEC champ game. oh well, can't wait for next year!!!!!!!!!

TIM TEBOW FOR HEISMAN!!! hahaha

at least we can go whoop some FSU ass before the year ends, that should be fun.

The crazy thing is that LSU is more than likely going to lose another coach after he wins a championship. Just this time it may be to a crappy big 10 team

Well here is the 411 on that.

Michigan going after Miles isn't a given. They will search for the best man out there. Now there is some who say that if Carr announces his retirement Monday it means Miles isn't in the running because there is too much time left between now and the end of LSU's season. If he waited until after teh bowl season then the bet is he would be thier man. Rumor also bouncing around that the big wigs close Michigan don't care for Miles much.

To be honest with some of the decisions he has made this year I am not too sure I disagree with UM big wigs. He is luckly LSU is awesome and has made some great plays to make bad calls look good.

But he is a UM guy, he can recruit good players, and has proven to be a winner at LSU. Besides I am not sure when Carr anouncing anything has anything to do with who they want. The earlier he announces the earlier they can start looking, but I would bet dollars to donuts they dont make up their mind until after the last game.
