Throttle Body

I have the MAC 70 mm T/B and it is fine. If I had a complaint, it was the high idle BS I went thru with it. We had to bring the idle specs down 40% from stock to eliminate the high idle with the tune, but it operates fine now. If I could have done it all over, I would have spent the extra dough on the BBK unit. Way better quality and it doesn't have the idle quality issues that alot of the others have.

I got my BBK TB and Plenum from Texas Hot Rods for a decent deal and had no problems with it...plus I like the little 4.6 graphic on the plenum.

However I just checked their site and could not find the matched TB and Plenum package that I purchased; which was $295. They might still have it if you email them. The TB alone now is $190-201 depending of 70-75mm.

If you do use THR, use the code NEWBIE5 for 5% off...its for new people. You can also email them and see if Stangnet gets more of a discount.

fobra559, my BBK TB stuck a tiny bit. With a quick google search found out that it sticks because of a vacuum and one turn of the adjustment screw fixed it. But mine was not sticking on letting off the gas, it was sticking pushing down the gas.

Maybe it was sticking on pushing down on the gas, I couldn't remember:p Glad you fixed it:)

darkside03gt,

The cause of the problem is that the BBK does not have any holes like the stock TB. You can read more on the site above.

As for the screw, its the idle set adjustment screw. I just tightened it so the butterfly did not shut quiet as much...very little adjustment needed maybe 1/3 of a turn. Work in small adjustments I started with like 1/8 of a turn and tried that for a day, and repeated until it stopped..took like 3 tries to get it right.

thanks man

Not sure cause I got my C&L plenum before my frpp 70mm tb, so I never had
the frpp tb on the stock plenum. But the stock 65mm tb matched up to the C&L.
With the frpp tb you wont have any kind of idle problem or whistling noise.

Yeah, I think one would need minor porting on the stock plenum because the frpp tb is 70mm. The C&L will have no problems with that of course:D
