Got the '95 running well today for the first time since mid-July. She was strong and purring like a very angry kitten.

Tonight, I let 2nd gear wind out to about 5,700 rpm then it starts missing. Look behind me and see a crapload of smoke, which could be just oil burning off of the exhaust since i'm still battling rear main seal and oil pan leaks.

Anyways, the car continues to miss and there's some knocking coming from the driver side of the engine that gets louder and faster as rpms increase, sounds like valvetrain. Yeah, bad news bears. Any which way, I'm gonna dig into it next weekend again and see what there is to see.

Ever since I installed the Procharger, I've had nothing but problems. True, I went from 320 to 530 rwhp, but I kinda wish for that old naturally aspirated reliability again.

Welp, thanks for reading and if you got any tips on troubleshooting this sucker, I'd be happy to hear them.

Haha, yeah. its just kinda frustrating when 2 hours after you button everything back up, something else completely different goes wrong and I gotta go back in. That's the name of the game, I s'pose.

Sorry to hear this man. I may have missed it but always wondered why your 408 was putting out 320rwhp to begin with. I would have fixed that issue first before dumping a poopload of air into it to get the result you wanted. Now I am a big fan of your so that is not a flame, just a curiosity on my part. Like I said, I may have missed something.. Either way the 530rwhp ..wow that is incredible but I know first hand how getting out the bugs can be frustrating. I have been ready to say "forget it" and drive it off a cliff a few times. Keep us posted! Thanks!

The problem with it when it was NA was the smallish heads (AFR 185's on a 408) and a very mild solid flat tappet cam that was holding it back. Even with the supecharger, it was putting out only 430 hp. Swapped the blower cam and bam, another 100 hp.

I think that the higher compression ratio is hurting me. maybe its time for a rebuild and a fresh start....hmmm....ideas....

\\Wow That is amazing. Swap out a cam and gain 100 HP. You gotta love big c.i. motors.

BTW you are right at or just over the rwhp limit on a steel crank.
