Well it turns out.....

...that my problems are more serious then a timing issue. here is the problem.... As I drive her the accelerationa is a little bit sluggish but not too bad, but as I come to a cruising speed the power bogs down and then the motor "chugs" (as if you changed gears to soon and you get the chugging) and it does it for the whole time you are at that speed but doesn't do it on acceration. it's a really weird thing going on here. like I said in another post this started happening after we took the the lower manifold off to fix a oil leak. I did notice that one of the clips that hold the distrib on broke off. not sure if that could cause this problem or not.:shrug:
 
Well I pulled the codes today to find out what the hell is going on and I get a 111 with the engine off, Running the test with the engine running it gives codes 412( "unable to control speed at high rpm"?), ("136 sensor reading lean on bank 1"), 172("sensor reading lean on bank 2")!!!! :shrug: does any body know what in the hell could be causing this??? I need to fix this bad boy before I have ship it out to Alaska! Help PLEASE!!!!:shrug: :shrug: :shrug:
 
412 might be a faulty or dirty IAC.........I believe the other two codes can be attributed to bad/old oxygen sensors. Bigger fuel injectors might also help in the future considering the amount of air your moving.......

Your biggest issue is the 19lb injectors. That's the cause of the 136 and 172, without a doubt in my mind. I know because I have the same problem with pretty much the same mods. I picked up a TwEECer to tune the problem away, but in all honesty, putting any effort into a tune with these injectors is pretty much pointless. You and I both need bigger injectors, probably a minimum of 24lb, but I'm going with some 30's.
 
Yeahh I know the injectors are on the list and are the first things I'm changing along with the adjustable FPR and pump when I have the dough. But I haven't had a problem with them before and I am pushing an average of over 290hp to the wheels after the dyno with the max hp of 321 at the wheels. All indications are pointing to the ERG system now. I'll keep you all posted. Thanks for all your advice gentlemen!!!!!
 
Your right and left banks being lean sound more like a vacuum leak to me. I had the same codes on my L when I had a small crack in one of the hoses off the manifold.

Since you say you just took the manifold off, CHECK YOUR VACUUM LINES!

Thanks Sqeeze but I did that like 4-5 times and I sprayed the engine down with carb cleaner and brake cleaner (when I ran out of carb cleaner) an didn't get any rise in RPM which would indicate a vaccum leak. But I did some reading up on it and too much EGR while cause the problems that my car is experiencing.
 
My car did something similar to this, erratic idle as well. My EGR was sticking. There is a plunger in there you can watch move. Mine didn't. I could pry it loose with a small screw driver then the car would idle. So I removed my EGR. :D

Cool...I hope its not a vacuum leak.

On the lightning, I sprayed like 6 cans all around too, never forund the vacuum leak that way. I had to pull it apart like 5 times to actually find it.

But EGR is alot easier to reach than pulling it apart.

Yeah I thought so too. so I took it apart and jacked around with it and put it on and started the motor and watched the diaphram move so I don't think its "stuck" but that doesn't mean the sensor isn't bad.
 
How about this? can it be a Fuel pump going out? I put a gauge on it today and the idle reading read 40 ( which is good I guess) but when you give it gas it drops to 33 psi. Is that normal for my top end set up? I know eventually I need to redo the fuel system but I don't have the money and I am really short on time trying to get this bad boy shipped out to Alaska!!!

Could be the regulator is not regulating pressure like it should. If so just get a stock replacement regulator and be done with it. The computer tunes out any adjustments anyway.
