what is the rpm for the stock rev limiter? The car will only rev to 5,500 and does not hit a rev limiter. It just doesnt seem to have anymore to go, its topped out? I know this probably is not good for the engine. Im not interested in reving up to 6,000. I am just trying to figure out if there is something wrong with the engine.
Thanks

IIRC that's about the EEC limit with an AODE.

shouldn't it still do that pulsating rev when i hit the rev limiter though, because it just revs to 5,500 and is one continuous tone?

Are you doing this in neutral? That is hard, no, very hard on the engine's rotating parts. I would suggest you just wind it out in first or second and see where it shuts down. Whenever I've hit the rev limit the engine is just shut down as if a switch was turned off.

Ya I do this in neutral. I know its not good for the engine. I try to not make it too hard on the engine by only doing it for a second. Do you mean the engine actually turns off? like you have to put it in neutral and you have to restart the engine?
