Ok im thinking about a head swap, want more power, do i have an option other than super expensive aftermarket heads? Is there a more economical option i dont care if they are aluminum i could deal with cast iron heads i want the most out of my 302, im debating on a 331 bottom end in the near future also

if you look around for a bit and wait for a good deal to pop up ive seen a set of trick flow heads go for 800 and im sure you could find a good deal on some edelbrock heads...there pretty nice for the money.

I bought a used set of heads and will never do it again. If you buy used heads unless you really KNOW the person you bought them from you would be very wise to have a valve job done and let the machine shop check the guides and all the good stuff. Had I bolted my "5k mileage" afr heads on my motor I would have had catastrophe in real short order. If your spending the money for a 331, you would be very foolish not to buy a good set of aluminum heads. If moneys the issue screw the 331 and get heads for the stock shortblock.

you could also consider a supercharger. wont have to tear anything down and its a true bolt on. and out of the box will add more power that just a set of heads alone. if you get nicer heads, you will need a bigger cam and intake to utilize them to the fullest.

:nono: Poor machining and real JUNK for parts. There's a reason they are so cheap, you get what you pay for.
:stupid:
i was going to buy a set from them and i got some horrible customer service, could hardly get more than a sentence out of them in their replies. and i was going to get them through the stangnet deal that had going. and then ended up charging me full price. i told them to cancel, got no reply and they sent them anyway COD i had to refuse them and had them sent back.

but others had good luck with them.

in december there was a topic about them and people were bashing them. so a rep from patriot came in a offered the heads brand new for 600$ to try and get the heads out there etc etc, the deal only lasted a few weeks.
