Would there be a market for these?

I'm an Electrical Engineer and I'm always trying to think of new ideas. I don't know if they have these or not (i haven't found them anywhere) but I thought about electro-magnetic hood pins. They'll only work off a relay off your ignition so they'll only operate when your car is on. If you shut your car off, the pins will shut off too so you can open your hood.
No drilling into your hood; just set the pins and turn your ignition on.

That's a bloody brilliant idea. You make it, I'll buy 2 sets (at a reasonable price, of course). You'd need to include a cutoff switch for the cabin, too, in case you needed to open the hood with the car running.

OK, here comes some rain on the parade. With the EM switch being off when the key is off, your hood is now easy to open for anyone who wants. I'll stick with the manual release that is kept behind a locked door when I'm not around.

The latch will still be there. This is instead of hood pins. Not everyone likes having to put pins through the hood. Just to keep the hood down at high speeds.
