6x9 will fit In the doors right? without modifiing anything or do I have to take aout the plastic piece?

Do they make a adapter for this or do I have to cut and splice with new wiring since it won't fit my new head unit?

I have Harmon-Kardons (true 3-way) with tweeter and mid-range in the factory replacement size. These are in my convertible, so I don't have a package tray to mount them, and the backs are in the quarter panel location. These are driven by a Kenwood power head with equalizer and power amp. I'm not driving tons of power, just enough for a clean clear sound.
The best music comes from my single chamber Flowmaster race units and the twice pipes.

Im sure there is an adapter for that you can find somewhere.. but most places will just cut them off. When going with aftermarket speakers most will sound poor with a stock headunit without some sort of amp. As for sound quality that depends on who you talk to and your personal liking.. and of course your budget. A circle speaker will always give you a more accurate sound but a larger surface area will more more air. Anything over 3-way is a little overkill in my opinion. Your best bet would be to get components in the front since that is how the mach system is set up for. Pioneer is a good bang for the buck for sure. Little more pricey but i am a fan of Infinity, Focal, and Boston. I currently have Infinity Kappa Perfect Components in front and back running off a HiFonics TXi 6406. Little Bright but gets super loud.

Do you need to wire the new speakers around the amps... you can't wire them up to the stock amps? I have a blown speaker in my door and I figured I would just start upgrading. Where would you find stock speakers if you wanted to go that route?

1. Yeah I've heard of Oz Audio, but I haven't heard any of their stuff personally.
2.They do have an adapter for that hardness. I usually hit up the Circuit City install bay for harnesses ($30-$40) or the local audio shop. When I originally installed aftermarket speakers, I cut and soldered everything. I hate spending that much on some piece of plastic with metal plugs inserted.
3. You CAN use the existing amps. They are weird since they are meant to run on 12-Ohm speakers IIRC. I used them for a year or so with some 8-Ohm Alpine components before removing all the stock wiring.

(not kidding.) In fact..I have never thought about it. I have been so focused on the drivetrain!

You can wire them to the stock amps but if you buy an amp you bypass them. As in getting stock speakers.. pay shipping and they are yours. trades welcome too

Are those stock speakers from a Mach 460? If they are I want them if the OP doesn't! Would PayPal you money after you told me shipping costs.
