Are the courtesy lights on the rear view mirror supposed to come on when the doors are opened on my 97 GT conv.? Thanks Larry

yes and holy ****.. your car is my cars twin exactly. I mean the headlights are different but it looks the freaking same ROFL.


so yep those lights come on in my 97 GT when the doors are open. Do they work if you switch them on from the switches or turn the headlight knob all the way to the right.

No they stay on all the time, I've got the mirror unplugged right now, Just picked up a factory service manual so guess I'll be doing some diagnostics. any ideas?

It may sound like something stupid to check, but make sure the headlight dimmer switch isnt turned all the way to the side. That turns on the dome light (the lights on your mirror in a vert). So give the headlight knob a twist and see what happens.

DUnno, mine works with it turned either way.

left is on
right is off.

when i first got my car a few weeks ago, i was pissed because i thought i was having electrical problems..i talked to this guy in a f150..and he informed me to try out the dimmer switch..problem solved..felt stupid..i was dressed up in my Technician uniform for work and everything..yup
