Trickflow Street Heat on a stock motor ?

cool. been looking for the spacer on there but cant seem to find it. overlooking it im sure. found a Ford Racing spacer kit but im sure thats not what i need.

can you give me a link?

I didn't need/use a spacer, neither did the guy I sold it to. It all fit fine. STB doesn't fit though.

If you do get a spacer get the 3/8 the 1" will give you hood clearance problems with a stock hood.

+1, I had to trim the bracing off the underside of my hood to make fine fit with the 1" spacer that came with it... Not to hijack, but are our factory hoods fiberglass? My hood looks factory (has the stickers and all) but is entirely fiberglass. I know this cause I chiped part of it on the outside...

no you will have to take it off. you dont have a vert so you really wont be able to tell.

The part number TFS-51520007 is Summits number for the 3/8" spacer. I needed it but I thought it was because of the raised valve cover mounting surface of the tfs heads and their valve covers but if you need it this is the one.

that is what most magazine articles where they did intake swaps said the dyno showed.

iirc, it was closer to 30 than 40.

since some people don't believe it, i'll see if i can dig up one of the old articles.

im the one who doesnt know, this is why i ask all sorts of questions. so i dunno whose right and whose not . i do appreciate ALL comments and help from everyone. if you can dig up some of those dyno sheets/articles, id be very interested in seeing.

You don't need the spacer unless you are running taller valve covers. The intake easily clears stock valve covers.

Off topic, but damn, I think my car has been wrecked... Back on topic, I needed a spacer because the vaccum ports on the underside of the intake hit my fuel rail... I bought my intake used, and it came with a 1" spacer. I would reccomend the 3/8" spacer though, for hood clearance. Im starting to wonder how different our engines can be. I tried mine without the spacer so I wouldnt have to cut on the hood, and I could not make it fit whatsoever... Thats weird.

Not to worry, 94-95 stangs got a fiberglass hood from the factory. I found out mine was fiberglass and had the same concerns that maybe it had been wrecked.. but then I inquired and it turns out the 94-95 hood is fiberglass.. what a relief

Thanks man, that makes me feel better. The other reason I thought my car had been wrecked is cause I can see bits of dirt in the paint of my front bumper. The paint is chipping off with every rock that hits... Back on subject again, I couldnt tell ya if my intake has been milled, but I guess it doesnt matter, cause it works!

Not trying to jack thread, but on the same note: would the gains from an explorer/gt40 intake on an otherwise stock engine be worth it? I know it wouldn't flow as well as a street heat but i have one sitting around and im not sure if its worth the trouble. Only mods are full exhaust and K&N.
