Trickflow Street Heat on a stock motor ?

Not trying to jack thread, but on the same note: would the gains from an explorer/gt40 intake on an otherwise stock engine be worth it? I know it wouldn't flow as well as a street heat but i have one sitting around and im not sure if its worth the trouble. Only mods are full exhaust and K&N.

Yes. Nearly anything is better then stock.

Yes better then stock but not by much, Ive always hated that explorer intake. Save your $$$ for something that's worth putting on it.

Not to hijack, but I have a vert with the factory stb, if I do an HCI what kind of stb should I get to replace the stocker with? Also, I shouldnt run around without a stb should I?

I don't know if your car is a Vert or not but

I took the stb off my GT years ago and never have wanted to replace it

I don't auto cross or drive it all that aggressive around corners

Heck... The Cobra doesn't come from Ford with one

Mine is a vert, thats the only reason I ask. I know it probably isnt critical (some sfc's are probably more helpful than the stb) but I think Ill be keeping mine just for peace of mind

Even a vert with subframe connectors welded in needs the strut tower brace, I could tell a pretty big difference in the way my car handled with it not on there.

Yeah I have a friend with a vert that flexs like crazy compared to my GT. He has no subframes or strut tower brace and his whole car creaks with every driveway we pull into...

Im thinking of picking up a maximum motorsports sport box, its a bit pricey I think (about $1500) but it gives you subframe connectors, k-member brace, strut tower brace, springs, shocks, struts, panhard bar, bushings, and a bunch of other stuff. Sounds like a pretty nice well rounded suspension upgrade from stock, sort of like the "trickflow top end kit" of the suspension world.
