So whenever I turn the steering wheel I hear this awful creaking noise. The noise comes from the steering column itself, so it can't be the rack bushings. Plus I've replaced those with new urethane ones less than a month ago.

What could be the problem?

I have the same problem when turning right into say a driveway, and its only to the right,im still stock.I dunno what causes it.But I also need to add that a drunk hit my car in May of '05 and the whole steering system had to be replaced, you can see pics in the link in my sig of the damage or better ones from the My Garage link...but noise has only started in the last year.

That sucks. Drunk drivers are the worst. At least you made it out alive and the car is fixed now.

Check the rubber boots around your balljoints for cracks. Sound can be weird and you may think it's comming from the column.

If the covers are cracked, odds are that your joints are dry.

rabidscoobie, couldn't help but notice but it appears from your sig picture that your headlights are pretty fogged up. Mine did the same, but instead of replacing I got this kit from advanced auto to "restore" your headlights. It's called something like crystal lens, comes in a silver package. Made my lens look brand new.
