Hey Guys,

I am looking to buy a new short shifter for my 1990 stang and I'd just like some input on which one would be the right choice.. Pro 5.0, BBK, B&M Ripper or The MGW.

I have heard that the Steeda and Hurst shifters are crap.
and although many people swear by the MTW, I live in British Columbia and getting one here would most likely be costly and take a hell of a long time.

I want to use the stock boot, and I want the least slop and vibration.
Doesn't matter if theres a small neutral gate or if it has a stiff feel.

If anyone could give feedback on thier shifters it would help me out in picking the best one
:canada: Thanks // Eric

I love my Pro 5.0. Nice, tight throws, no slop at all. I recommend getting the deluxe handle though.

I have a BBK, it sucks. Springs went soft after about a year, and I had to improvise new, stiffer ones, because I kept missing 3rd (didn't want to center itself when speed shifting). Still, I'm not convinced it is the best shifter I could have bought. I'd say MGW or Pro-5.0 are your best bets.

Don't believe everything you hear.

i love my pro 5.0. i've had one in every mustang i've owned. like mentioned above though, the handle that comes with it is only so-so. i have a Kona stick on mine, pretty much the tri-ax handle, only a little shorter and made of steel instead of aluminum. tri-ax's aren't junk either, btw.
