Good God, I don't think I've ever seen a week where so many things have gone wrong since 1999.

We walk in without our starting running back, tight end and slot receiver, then Cutler takes an injury to his throwing hand on the very first play. To top it off, our running back gets banged up, we lose our 2nd best linebacker for the year and both starting corners go down with Bailey likely gone a month or more.

The only good thing that happened last night was our lineman suddenly discovering that they could actually rush the passer, but then the linebackers left them hanging out to dry.

I was hoping that we could use the bye week to get healed up and turn around the slump, but the bye week just won't be enough time. Unless we can make a few decent, stopgap additions to the defense we will be in major trouble.

Ahh well...life goes on.

Yeah rough game for you guys.. I was shocked because the broncs always play NE hard even in the SB years they gave us tough games.

BTW not trying to burst your bubble on the pass rush BUT.. Cassel sucks don't get too excited by the sacks he is a one read QB who goes into panic mode when his first or second read is not there and takes sacks.. Everybody is sacking this guy..

Same goes for fellow pats fans.. Don't get excited by the points scored.. this team is still WEAK on offense, the broncs have a bad if not horrible defense and the broncos offense played horid.. Go defensive teams will still confuse the hell out of cassel.

Geez, you're so pessimistic about us this year. :(

I thought the defense played really well. They were flying around, getting picks and finally getting pressure on the QB.

Damn you were close to the action. I took a ton of pics to when I went. YOu should have asked for her # :D

So how was the weather? Did you freeze your nuts off :D:D

I should've asked for her number, just for kicks! :D

The weather all weekend was chilly and windy.. holy crap!!!! I got there wearing shorts and a short-sleeve shirt and I felt like an idiot lol. On Sunday, I was wearing a hoodie and jeans, still cold because of the wind.. my ears, hands, and nose felt like they were gonna fall off. I'm soooo not used to that kind of cold/wind. But, I actually like it better than the heat down here.

The game tho.. It was pretty chilly before the game, but once the crowd filled in it got much better.. the body heat was a big help, so I didn't really feel that cold during the game. It was great :nice:

I was concerned going into the game without Scheffler, Stokley and Young. Scheff and Stokley are both "safety nets" for Cutler and we all know how a young QB needs those.

With the players we lost and an already poor defense there was simply no way we could have hung around in that game. Had we feeled the same team that went blow for blow with the Chargers and Saints, I would have expected a win.

While that is true, you gotta consider that our pass rush was not even getting penetration at the start of the year. This game was a major improvement for the pass rush.

The Pats ran a really good defense for against us. From what I saw, they rolled the coverage over towards Marshall's side and played zone, while the rest of the defense went man to man. Blanketing Marshall pretty much took him out of the game and we weren't taking advantage of the openings underneath.

The defense did play very good.. BUT the broncos flat out sucked in that game, when they don't get turnovers like that the defense gets worn down due to the many failed 3 and out drives this team has put up this year..

I am down on the teams prospects because of cassel.. I think he is that bad...

They might even make the playoffs just because the rest of the team is so strong that even horrible qb play is good enough to win but at this point I don't consider them a serious contender to win the SB... Just finish ahead of the jets so I can point and laugh at them and I will be happy.

I am not trying to be a dick but I am being realistic..

Third New England Patriot placed on IR this season

Harrison's 15-year career could be over after thigh injury

:(

May never see him play again

He was such a great safety.. in 03-04 he was incredible. Like troy brown i will miss him a lot..

Did anyone see that Brady has had to have 3 additional surgeries to clear up infections and other junk in the knee. They were talking about it on the herd and I am not sure if he was joking or not, but they said if they dont get the infection cleared up they could have to amputate. Then he said Brady would be the 3rd best QB in the league with 1 leg.

I just heard what was playing in my car, I just caught part of that topic.

I did here he has had quite a few surgeries to clear up infections in his knee.

Amputation wouldn't surprise me if they couldn't get it under control.

Amputation

If the infection is not brought under control, the patellar tendon graft used to replace Brady's anterior cruciate ligament could become compromised, according to the Herald's report. If that happens, he will have to undergo another surgery on the ACL. That would reset the clock on his rehabilitation.

Ohhh.. gotcha. :nice:

I was wondering why you were being so harsh on that defense and the rest of the team, but now it makes sense.

I certainly will miss Harrison and Brown.. two great Pats! :flag:

And yeah, as long as we finish ahead of the Bretts I will be happy.. playoffs would be nice, but keeping the Bretts in our rear-view mirror would be best. :D

Im just telling ya what they were saying on espn radio. I said I didnt hear the whole thing, just that last part.

But if there is a serious infection which having 3 additonal surgeries would indicate its not crazy talk. I hope he is fine as the league is better with guys like him and the Mannings, Romo, Favre, etc.

A lot of times those guys on ESPN radio can be sarcastic about stuff like that, like the other day when I heard them say "Man, Bill must be glad he traded for Moss and Welker to give Cassel some weapons during the bye week".. They like to stretch stuff, I guess you could say.

But yeah, the league is much better with those guys in it.

Here is what was posted on the Broncos forum just a little bit ago. No mention of amputation but he is at risk for missing next season as well.

Doctors are aggressively fighting an infection in Tom Brady's surgically repaired left knee.

Brady recently acknowledged on his Web site that doctors went in "to clean and to test the wound" on Oct. 15 because of the infection. The New England Patriots quarterback has had two more similar procedures since then.

The story was first reported by the Boston Herald and confirmed by ESPN's Wendi Nix.

The Patriots, as an organization, are upset with the situation because they were clear that they wanted Brady's surgery done under the direction of doctors of their choosing in Boston, sources told ESPN.

Instead, Brady opted to have the surgery in California by a doctor his family preferred, and now there are major problems. Brady was supposed to be back in New England by now, but a timeline for his return remains unclear.

A person close to Brady told ESPN: "Tom is looking at months, not weeks, to fix this."

Appearing on Mike and Mike in the Morning, Dr. Rob Gotlin explains that if the infection in Tom Brady's knee doesn't clear out, even a repeat surgery will be doomed to fail. Listen

According to the Herald, Brady is on a six-week course of intravenously administered antibiotics, and is still having follow-up exams at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, where the surgery took place.

If the infection is not brought under control, the patellar tendon graft used to replace Brady's anterior cruciate ligament could become compromised, according to the Herald's report. If that happens, he will have to undergo another surgery on the ACL. That would reset the clock on his rehabilitation.

Brady had surgery on Oct. 6 -- 29 days after he was injured in the Patriots' season opener -- on a hit by Kansas City Chiefs safety Bernard Pollard. Brady reportedly tore the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in the knee.

New England Patriots spokesman Stacey James said Wednesday the team would let Brady comment on the status of his injury.

Information from ESPN reporter Wendi Nix and The Associated Press was used in this report.

I just can't imagine how he would've gotten a post-operation infection, that really confuses me. I've had many major surgeries, including 3 pacemakers, 2 open-heart, and 1 closed-heart surgeries.. never had an infection. I've had my nose re-done 4 times, had my throat worked on twice and mid-facial/lip implants, still no infections. I'm sure he takes care of his body much better than I ever have and after having my heart surgeries my immune system is extremely weakened, never got one.. I just don't get it.
