93 gt hatchback Exhaust

I got 2 chambers on my Capri and it sounds good. It has that 2000 rpm drown however i have 3.73s so I am not cruising there, so its not a big deal. My daughters 90 GT vert has 3 chambers and it has a mellow rumble during cruise. Exhasue is a personal choice so just listen to different setups and get the one you like the best. On my 93 LX I am going to try Summit branded welded mufflers just to see what they are like. If I dont like them I can always get some other brand and install them on my 86 Vert project car.

I have a 93 GT and right now it has an Off road H-pipe..stock headers..2 chamber flows..stock tailpipes....Sound nice nice tone to it...But im going to be installing after the winter a set of shorty headers...A BBK catted H-pipe and the new american thunder Cat back kit with the new super 44's..there supossed to be the most aggresive 40 series flowmaster muffler yet...Here is a few sounds clips of the 44's see what you think.....:nice:...hope this helps....

yea my brother had that mellow rumble and i liked it but i want something a lil bit louder

I have had my Flowmaster American Thunder's (2 chambers) for about 3 years now like them OK, loud for sure and sound great under acceleration (especially with the ported heads now) but I HATE that 2K drone sometimes. I have been thinking about getting a Magnaflow setup or MAC axle back's. :D

Really? It's been a year or so, but I had a friend that had a 92' Vert that had the mac setup. Even better after he got the heads ported. What mid pipe and headers do you have?

To compare, he had a X-pipe and BBK ceramic coated headers.

yea how much do you think that whole setup would be? with shipping? cause i live right next to mustangs unlimited with a summit store relevantly close

The American Thunder kit with the super 44's AND tell them you want the super 44 series because if you dont you might get the older 40 series they might still have them and they might be trying to get rid of them 1st...the mufflers are black..not sliver ...I think the kit is like $330 If you do get it please post sound clips up so i can hear it because thats the system i want too, but i wont de getting it til after winter...:(

Well what i would do 1st would be remove the air silencer and put in a K&N air filter...Then do the exhaust....:)

Check out the Magnaflow clip in my sig...that's my current favorite, but i'm looking out for a set of Spintechs for cheap.

Opinions are crazy...one person says Mac sound like crap, whereas they're one of my favorites. People seem to love the Pypes, but i don't care for'em. I also love 3 chamber Flows with an X....it's a very low key sound but it's a very good quality sound.

As for the change in exhaust thing you mentioned...the only change i'm aware of is that they changed how they rated their engines...they started testing their engines with all the accessories installed, which resulted in a lower hp rating, but the engines are the same so there's no real power difference.

The 93 also has Hyper pistons too not forged anymore..But i think that the numbers being lower probably is because they had to make it look lower some reason...I think they are the same tho..maybe a little different...
