do you feel bad after beating on your car?

on the way to my family dinner i did a little donut in an empty parking lot. I was bouncing off the limiter for a few seconds till I shifted to second.

I know that the limiter is there to protect the engine, but I always cringe when I hit it.

At first, yes. I didn't even like taking it over 3k RPM. My first trip to the track I didn't shift over 5k RPM...

After I got comfortable with the car and learned it inside and out, absoloutly not. I am very meticulate in taking mechanical care of the vehicle, but I drive it like a Mustang.

If more than two or three days go by and I don't do a wide open throttle blast at least once something is wrong with me.

He drives his car so fast he blew the 7 and 6 off his sig.

theres a reason behind that. same reason i have the GIANT yellow quote on top of my sig.

i wouldnt want anyone to think i knew something about cars by the amount of power my car makes. i also got to add to my ignore list from the same thread:)

the way i see it, i built my car to be driven hard. so that is how i plan to drive it. i always let it warm up before i beat on it but thats about it!

If you want to cringe try putting slicks on your car for the first time and launching at 5k on a stock rear end. LOL! First time I did it I had no idea what to expect other than traction. I dropped the clutch and heard the worst noise ever from my car and thought I had ripped the entire rear end out of the car. It however didn't and it was just the tires barking.

Did I feel bad? Maybe the first time but after that I got over it because I knew the car was well taken care of.

I don't do donuts, burnouts, rev limiter meetings etc...But I do run through gears to red line almost everywhere I do. I don't really feel bad. I maintain it, and don't drive it everyday. It has a safe tune as well, so it'll be okay.

I dont feel bad when I run my car....However I did run a full 10lb bottle through my car in a matter of hours....spraying 150shot i did feel pretty bad, So i put a coat of wax on her to make up for my abuse

This is what I bought my car for.

Link to said stupidity?

I sometimes feel bad when I really push it but thats cause of its weak points which will soon be addressed.
The IRS brace needs to be done when making power or the diff cover will leak or break
The head cooling mod worries me when I am at WOT in 4th and 5th
Oil seperator is needed because of the inherant oil/intake problems
And I need a retune and MAF fix cause my MAF pegs at 5K

After the car gets out of the shop it will get all thoes mods in one swoop and I will take it in for a retune. One for regular and another tune for meth injection. I want it over 500 rwhp by new years :nice:

Every time I'm in my car I give her some WOT runs getting up to highway speeds or to pass a slow car on the highway or just having fun getting up to the speed limit. I don't to burnouts, donuts or hit the rev limiter (harder to hit the limiter on an automatic except when I shift her manually) but I run her hard.

Yeah I stay off the rev limiter as much as possible, I never got into the whole bounce it off the rev limiter game. It's there to protect the engine, but it's not good for the motor to hit it in the first place.
