Going from TR3650 to 4R70W?

If you change out the ecu you'll run into a problem with the PATS. Better to have the original ecu flashed by a ford dealer for $100. You'll need a pedal set, shifter with cable, fluid lines from trans to cooler, trans cooler and you're drive shaft may need to be changed. It's better to sell your car and buy a cheeper one with auto.
 
Sell the car and buy one with an auto in it? What....... It can and has been done before. Sounds like ur already aware of the pats issues, so that takes car. U will need a tune and all the above mentioned parts but no reason an average joe can't do this in his garage.
 
I'm in MA and might consider a straight swap. How many miles on the trans. Does it have issues. I have a friend who would do the work.

Still not 100% I want to do the switch though. I might well buy a Mercedes C class this week. Have to see if I go ahead with that or not.
 
So you have a 4R70W coming? Is it already built or are you sending it out? Are you Stalling it too?

You should be running mid 10s now with out a problem.

I really need the help, I just can't get any faster with the manual. Part of it is my arthritic condition. Plus it will be easier for me to drive on the street.I will just use it stock for a while and see how well it hold s up.

How much power are you making again?


If the trans is going to be apart for the jmod I would just have it built while your at it. Seriously no one could belive that I was on the stock tranny when my car was making like 425(underrated) rwhp when I was running 11.6. I know your making more than that. Trust me dude the I don't see that car making many runs before you start having problems.
