A friend who was high up in the Co. was just laid off.
Then for the last 2 weeks, I've been calling every day leaving messages, NO reply.

I have a time sensitive warrenty issue. No one will touch the car till they talk to Bill Von (warrenty Dpt.) He is nowere to be found.

No one answers any phone, on any extintion and no call backs.

I truly beleave I'm screwed and they are out of buisness, just haven't made is public. Or they are still holding out to be bought.

If anyone knows anything, or how to get hold of a Saleen employee let me know.

At this point rumor has it that they are sold. Everyone is now waiting to find out what happened.

They may let us in on the particulars in a couple of days....until then sit tight with the rest of us owners.

Thanks for the feedback.
I hope everything works out.
The way this is going down is poor. This is everything but a smooth transition.
There should not be a laps in everyday buisness. Companies are baught and sold everyday.
I guess i'll just walk or ride my bike while my $60K Saleen sits broke at the dealer or untill they hire back the warenty guy that can then spend the first month listening to the messages i've left him over the last 2 weeks.

Saleen is not out of business, just going through a transition.

You can read our version of the story here...

Saleen Incorporated Finds Buyer For Part of Assets - The Saleen Forums at soec.org

I talked with Jess Albright in Dealer Support/Warranty/SpeedLab Sales today.

As a natural part of the business transition of changing ownership, in addition to the recent layoffs, they did basically let everyone go but are hiring many of them back. Jess was let go Friday and hired by the new owners already. Bill Vaughn is not back... yet, but Jess is there to help, just be patient.

I am PMing you Jess's contact info to help you with your warranty situation.

Our version? :rlaugh:

Our version at SOEC included input from the press release and from two different people we talked to in Troy... an original piece, to a great extent, which I'd like to think makes it a little different than Bill copying and pasting Drew Phillip's autoblog article... which is a great work in itself.

Anyone can copy and paste.

Ironically I didn't notice until later that Drew also accidentally mistook our original work as the press release, and also published that for Bill to ultimately "snag"... so this makes like the 4th time you guys at SCOA has thought enough of our work to copy and paste it on your site but without giving any credit.

So yes, our versions of stories can't be that bad, since they keep getting snagged... but once again, it'd be nice to give credit where credit's due.

That aside, we've had almost 1,000 hits on the thread, so maybe we're doing something right.

:nice:

Hello pot, here's a note from the kettle, it was great that you added the Edmunds info about former CEO Chris Theodore to your thread there after seeing that I had posted it on a couple of sites so that you could copy and paste it.

Internet info is FREE to the public and once it's out there it's free for the taking, get over it!

Just to set the record straight on this, I didn't copy and paste anything from your site! I copied and pasted everything from the article that was on the Autoblog Site!

So get your facts straight before you pass along false info!

Autoblog accidentally copied some of our stuff... you copied their stuff... including our stuff... get it?

Whatever happened to the "ask saleen inc" forum at SOEC?

Oh, thats right, people started asking valid questions that Saleen refused to answer so the admin(s) made up BS answers. When asked about the BS answers, the entire forum, magically disappeared.

Funny how other people hear the news, post it up on SOEC, THEN SOEC creates a new post...then they act like they "heard" the information first....then say everything posted on their site is copywrited and cannot be cut and pasted or shared without proper consent or giving SOEC credit.

NOW THAT is what true :bs: is

BACK on topic though...

Getting in touch with Saleen is just ridiculous. It takes DAYS for them to get in touch with a dealer about a warranty claim. I have spoken with our regional Saleen rep from Saleen Inc and he says there is nothing he can do. Jess and Bill are good people. I am sure they are absolutely SWAMPED right now...well, that is, if they are still employed. Who are we going to contact when they are gone?

The new news...and you are hearing it HERE first (before SOEC posts up and claims its their information)....Ford did not renew its contract with Saleen. Whether this is true or not or the ramifications of it have yet to be determined.

Whatever happened to the "ask saleen inc" forum at SOEC?

The "ask Saleen" section came about from a discussion between Mark P. & Jim. Jared and Jess used the area, then they were let go by the company. Besides, Mark wasn't using the forum area.

Oh, thats right, people started asking valid questions that Saleen refused to answer so the admin(s) made up BS answers. When asked about the BS answers, the entire forum, magically disappeared.

See above. Some questions were valid. Others were complain fests or would turn into such. It was time consuming on the SOEC website staff since the "ask Saleen" area turned into a makeshift customer service line. In turn, highlighting a dropped ball by Saleen Inc for not staffing a CS department. As a side, responses were not "made up." What a strange thing to say.

Not true, but it seems you've made your mind up. That's cool. Yes, the press materials and releases are original works. Most every press release gets a "tweak" before posting. Contrary to popular belief, copyrights and trademarks don't disappear over the net. Think back to high school or college. When you prepared a term paper you needed a Works Cited page to document and give credit to the ideas you presented. This would also display your sources and the credibility of materials used. Ex: Like using a Roush forum for your Saleen vehicle info. See below.

NOW THAT is what true :bs: is

Jesus loves you.

There's more... :hail2:

They've been for sale (or tip toeing around it) since the summer/fall.

The new news...and you are hearing it HERE first (before SOEC posts up and claims its their information)....Ford did not renew its contract with Saleen. Whether this is true or not or the ramifications of it have yet to be determined.

I also hear that "...Dr. Adewole Aremu - a director with the Union Bank of Nigeria in Lagos..." wishes "...to speak to you most urgently about a matter regarding the sum of $39,000,000 US..."

I say go for it! :D

Hah!

I'm gonna have to stick by my good pal davidj on this one... but I have to ask, why can't you guys play nice???

As for the "Ford did not renew..." bit, that mis-information has already been all over the Internet -- and unfortunately already posted on our forum no thanks to to someone who found it on a Roush forum of all places.

To calm your fears that we might claim it as ours, surely you jest. Spreading unsubstantiated rumor (from some guy who overheard something at a dealer no less) ain't our style.

But I can say we read the original post, researched what wasn't already flawed (and 99% of those statements on the Roush forum were flawed). Then we double-checked with reliable sources, and ultimately we debunked it. Never mind that a Saleen employee debunked it on our forum. Enough said.

:Zip2:

Am I right on this one? We shall see, but for now, I simply say...

Neeext!

Oh, and we're not saying it's hard to get warranty work done... that there's no denying. Shame on you for waiting so long in the first place, and for taking it in on a Thursday expecting it'd be fixed by Friday... during the week the company's being sold... and furthermore, is this your first Ford? :rlaugh:

I generally do not post often here but I feel the need after reading this thread. I am a Saleen owner and quite honestly enjoy the merits of both Saleen clubs and their respective websites. My question is this: Why the bitter, and quite frankly pathetic, bashing amongst the two?
I don't want to state the "why can't we all just get along" comments but seriously............
