i have been looking through some old threads about the played out mod the cold air intakes:rlaugh:.... it seems the fox crowd really don't bite on them to well, and i get it, the fender piece is a good oem design(not too many cars can say that).
but one thing i have noticed with all my cars including my first 4banger with a cold air intake that i thought was good for like 15hp:mad::rolleyes:. was the sound difference. i am making a cheap 30.00 inlcluding filter warm air intake with reusable cone filter and i don't care if i pick up 1hp or lose 5hp the sound difference is where its at....it allows for a deeper exhaust note and the air sucking in/hissing is cool IMO....
just wanted to say that and see if anyone else like the difference there cold air intake has made.

i like the cold air kit i pieced together...

Hmm... Post was made at 2:18AM. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're just drunk rather than queer.

The intake sound you are hearing is likely more due to the removal of the intake air silencer in the fender well. Also, any sound difference in the exhaust tone is likely the CAI throwing off your A/F, outside from that, I don't see how it could possibly affect exhaust note.

FWIW, my semi-custom CAI setup:

I've tried several cold air kits through the years and none have changed my exhaust note. Deeper sound from the engine bay but that's it. Cold air's have been dyno tested with very little to no gains on a stock motor. Although that's just sitting on a dyno, I believe with more mods and with the car in motion power gains are there. How much of a gain over a stock airbox? Well, that's the question that's yet to be answered.

woah woah, whats up with the gay comments, not cool guys. thats a little to off topic, lets not do that again okay and thank you:mad:. a-s-s- wholes!
also the sound is just coming from the hood i guess but i like it......and like i said i dont care about the performance gains at all + or -

ps. cenok where did you get that 90* elbow coupler. i need that exact piece for what im making...

Sorry...

If you get a throttle body spacer they make a sick ass whistle noise.

then dont make a thread about a cai making a cool noise.

lol you guys are awesome, my choice of words "cool" could've have been better but i will stand behind that. a cold air intake/cone filter allows you to here the air hissing into the tb vs. a stock box. and imo thats cool, it doesn't make the exhaust note deeper but the open tube and cone filter do add some decibels under the hood..
but whatever you guys are awesome sorry i wasted your time and typing effort.

Hey guys i have a 93 GT with the air silencer removed and a K&N filter seems ok..but im going to be putting on a Kenne bell supercharger soon should i go with a good CAI to help by adding more air to the blower? Do you think that is a good idea? or should i just leave the stock air box with K&N? ....
