Funny thing today. Went to look at a 2005 GT in black with 10k miles. on the way back I found a 03 Mach 1 in screaming yellow with black stripes.

The 03 is at a dealer asking 15900k.

The GT is private party asking 17.5k

Now I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

05 GT= Modern, Nice, fast, but bland, boring, & you see them everyday...

Mach 1= Rare, fast, unique, sexy, mean, & you barely ever see screaming yellow & its a bad@$$ color. Plus its a 4V......WIN!!!!:nice:

Go for the Mach 1... I am biased though of course...:D

P.S. Are you sure the Mach is an 03? If so, it would be Zinc Yellow because screaming yellow was 2004 only.... Zinc is more pale yellow, but Screaming is a deep, rich, vibrant yellow....

Here are a couple of pics for comparison...

Wow I guess I got a better deal than I thought.

Just bought a prestine 1 owner, clean carfax 03 Mach 1 today. It has 50K miles and I got it for $10,500. It is bone stock and I love it. I would defintely go with the Mach 1. Just starting it up puts a big grin on my face.

P.S. I like your car EPIK, same color as mine. :)

WOW!!! I'm in the same predicament. I'll start another post with details so as not to hijack.
I am torn between mach1 and maybe an 05 or 06 gt. Not much difference in power(on paper), I haven't driven either of them so don't know the sotp difference...can anyone chime in...?

I love mach 1s and all but if I was in the market to buy a new stang I would go with the 05-09 GT. The s197 is a very refined car compared to the Sn95. You can get them for the same cost as a used mach1, do a CAI, exhaust, 93 OCT tune, 3.73 or 4.10 gears and you have a car that is pushing close to 350 crank hp. That's not to bad if you ask me. Plus the 3v just like the 4v love F/I.

I test drove an '05GT about 4 years ago when I had my Mach at a Ford dealership for a car show. They do have to nice power to them, I drove a 5 speed. Did'nt get on the highway with it, but did get it up to about 60mph after gunning it on a lonley street not far from the dealership. Aside from that, and being I had owned my Mach for a year already when I drove the '05, I found alot of things I hated. The interior set-up as far as gauges, dash, and shifter I did'nt like, the hydraulic clutch SUCKED (I've got a hydraulic clutch in my '05 Focus and I can't get use to it for the life of me, the Mach is clutch cable), the backseat area actually looked smaller than my Mach. Just look and drive both and decide for yourself, it's apples-oranges.

the s197 suspension and chassis is lightyears away from sn95's, its alot more refined and smooth and soft....and feels like im riding in an SUV LOL

its nice and all, but im at an age where that's not what im looking for, i want to FEEL like im being thrown around corners lol the s197's are too comfy for my current tastes, and feels too heavy when compared to my car

when it all comes down to it, you'd really have to drive it to know what type of feel you'd be ok with for years to come.
