So, with summer starting off, and me picking up a full time job soon, that means I'll be able to really get things going with my Mustang. The thing is, though, I have no idea what I want to do with it exactly. I'd like to get some opinions on what would be the best route, after I give out the things I want from the car.

It has to retain street manners very well. It's my daily driver and, while it'll see the strip on occasion, it's meant to be a fun car for me to drive daily.

Reliability is a must. I don't want to be 'fixing or reparing daily'. :nice: I don't mind paying the extra money for reliability, whatsoever.

I want more power, simple as that. I'm looking to put down around 300 hp to the wheels. I don't know whether I should go with a nice mild H/C/I combo, hook a bottle up, or go the FI route. Gas mileage isn't a HUGE factor. I'd like to retain close to the same gas mileage as I'm getting now, but you gotta pay to play.

If anyone has any opinions, stories, suggestions, links, or anything, I'd appreciate it! :flag:

blow it. boost only starts at higher RPMs, so no major daily driver gas mileage hit. the reliability is the same for the stock for the most part as your not changing much, just bolting on. just get a good solid tune. street manners, again boost doesn't kick in till after your normally shift.

i restate, supercharge that bizotch

Makes me feel a lot more confident in what I'm wanting to do! :nice: I've had my eye on a Kenne Bell kit for a few days... If I hook it up, intercooled, running 6lbs, you think that'd get me to 300? Or would I have to port out the heads a bit, up the boost, or what? My motor is basically stock, my only mods are in the sig.

Are Vortechs loud? I'm really looking for that solid whine. Not necessarily the same volume as a roots or twin screw, as those would obviously be louder, but would the Vortech atleast be audible? Also how much would EVERYTHING run? The kit (intercooler?), and any supporting mods for my fuel system.

there isn't an intercooler for vortechs for our cars unless you wanted to get fancy and make one yourself. theres always meth inj if you needed it though. depending on which vortech you got, they can be quiet or loud. the v1s are loud and you'll know its there. the v2-sq is the quiet one, sq="super queit". the v3s are self contained, not sure how loud they are but i think i heard someone before say they are comparable to the v2s.

Gotcha. I was just curious to know if I'd need to run one. I'm not planning on running a lot of boost into the motor. I'd like to keep it as low as possible, and my only goal is the 300rwhp mark. I'm assuming the Vortech would do that, with little supporting mods other than maybe a few bolt ons?
