You can also just put your 19lb injectors on it for now. Or you can buy a MAF calibrated for 24lb injectors. It's a good opportunity to put a bigger MAF on it. A different computer isn't going to do anything for you down the line.

while this was a good idea.... and your car is boosted... i think a better idea would of been to buy a cheap short block and rebuild... you dont know how long those stock gaskets are going to hold boost for...


Should regasket with a set of felpro MLS or cometics.... however... without a good tune a quality head gasket increases your chances of doing damage to your engine....

what is your car tuned with?

like i said i dont know alot about boost... but u know have a strait set of heads with a good gasket is a must...

head studs or ARP bolts wouldnt be a bad idea.... neither would a roller style rocker while you had the heads off


but then you can start thinking about a custom cam.... new timing conponents... How ever as ALWAYS! new water pump... and new oil pump use the standard VOL pump not the high volume... if you plan on using the stock pan the high vol pumps bolts can some times hit and crack the pan

I wouldn't go crazy with the rebuild. Ford builds an engine to last, Adam can attest to that. I'd take a low mileage factory engine like that over one that has been hacked into by a machine shop. I would say your odds of blowing it up are the same with leaving it the way it is vs having it rebuilt. New head gaskets are a good idea, but I would leave the bearings and rings alone if they appear to be in good condition.

yup when you have the pan off pull the caps on a bearing or 2 and see if they are really scored up

All of this because you blew a head gasket on your other motor. I am really confused why you didn't use the $850 bucks to freshen up the motor that you already had in the car. The cobra performance parts are of no consideration since you have a turbo and can obviously make block breaking power anyways. To each his own I just don't get why you didn't put it into the motor you already had and made it like new. You didn't need to buy a new motor to make your turbo work.

I'm using a PMS to tune it. My dad will definitely look at the bearings. I'll probably do new gaskets on the heads.

It's pretty common practice to delete the oil cooler on those cars. It's not the most effective design in the first place. Unless you are running the engine hard, like all day at the race track then it's really not necessary. GT Mustangs don't have oil coolers, and generally don't have problems with hot oil.

Ok cool... another thing, my dad said the motor was leaning to the side and some oil was coming out of the one cylinder. Is that normal?

Is that with the heads on or off? Oil will come out of the galley's if the engine is tilted, but shouldn't be coming out of the cylinders.
