so as the title implies i started the long tubes today, and of course cant do nothing without somethin makin it a PIA. so for starters when i was doin the passenger side i got all the studs out except one which refuses to come out. done tried PB blaster and everything short of heating the stud up, but im not about to heat an aluminum cylinder head up with a torch. and then to make things worse which it wasn't his fault because of the circumstances but as my roommate was workin on the driver side stock manifold to get it off, the egr tube just twisted up instead of unscrewing. and then i could get the steering shaft off cause as we were workin on it through the day the hose on the alignment rack blew off for the middle part of the lift so i could get the front tires off the ground. but at least i got all the exhaust off now and just need to get the new on.

took me 9 days to install my LTs LOL(took a couple days off because of frustration), i didnt take all my studs out though, got 2 stock studs on the passanger side and 6 on the driver side rest are the bolts that came with the headers lol, headers are a major PITA, i didnt have to remove my k-member either.

I really don't see how longtubes is such a PIA for people. I install longtubes in 4 hours on jack stands. I would have left the studs in the heads and reused them. Other then locking header bolts the seal the best and don't back out. all other bolts will back out.

they YOU wont have a problem doing me a favor and swapping mine when i role through That badass state of Tennesee

have fun... it took me 12 hours (did not drop k-member), and i reused the oem studs (which turns out is a HUGE mistake with bbk l/t's) needless to say, i have since paid a shop to remove said studs & replace with stage 8 locking fastners & new header gaskets... best $350 I have ever spent. I love to work on things, and i love a challenge, but that is one job i will not ever take on again, its worth paying some one else to do it.
