Some Cam advice?

Im going to buying cams for my car very very soon but not sure on which company will provide me with the most power for my stock heads. I will be getting it re-tuned for the new cams, but my only problem is I dont have alot of ptv clearence. I know the max lift will be a 550 on the intake side and the exhaust side has no real problems. I have looked at the CMS/old VT cams, hitech, comp, crower but I just cant pull the trigger on which one to go with. Who is running aftermarket cam and how much power did you get out of it. My goal is to get into the high 11's next year.

I want to be all motor. No boost because of the compression, and dont want to do nitrous unless i have to do so for 11's but i dont think i will need it i think i can have a n/a all motor 11 pass with the addition of cams, long tubes, and some slicks

I have done searching all over the place i just want someone that can tell me how much they gained from stock.

i was told by hi-tech cam guru with there stage2 and spring upgrade at least 35 to 45 rwhp.and he also told me 300 to 310 n/a.

I am not going to be swapping springs because i will not be exceeding the lift of the stock springs. I have heard of people with ptv issues with the hitech stage 2s with stock gt pistons i dont think they will work with my pistons.

This decision also hinges on who is doing the swap. If you do it yourself it's worth it but spending a grand to swap cams is pretty expensive for the 30-40 hp you get.

I gained about 30hp from my Comp 262's.

I'm at 293/310 with the HiTech stage IIs and with stock vavle springs.

No need to go with springs unless you are going to rev more the 6,400rpm. He is right that you will see 300 to 310 N/A with a manual transmission and all other boltons.

I will be revving the car to whatever my tuner says is safe. I do do all of the work on my car, but when it comes to the more advanced installs i take my car to my buddys shop and have him help me. I did look at the trickflow cams but noone runs them so no feedback.

the only reason why i asked you that is because i have heard and saw some serious damage if you dont change springs. the car should not be taken to more then 6000 with stocks springs. you should can them in you intend to go alittle more then 6000 rpms.

HiTech says you should be safe as long as you don't go over 6,400rpm. My tuner set my car to shift at 6,100rpm. I have the rev limiter set to the stock 6,250rpm.

well i shift now at 5800 and the cms stage 1s are good up to 6100 or 6200. The hitech stage 2s are to much lift and duration
