SN of the Month administrator

I would like to add, that my indescrete posts on this thread and the other thread should not be held against me for becoming the new mod/stang of the month guy. I am piss ass drunk tonight, and with good reason. I am going to the dentist tomorrow for what is sure to be some bad news. I have two teeth that I have neglected to get drilled and filled for over a year now because I hate the dentist. Of all the good reasons to drink 3 whiskey and cokes, and 4 beers, giong to the dentist has got to top the list.

The biggest PITA is trying to find pictures when they're not posted in the nomination thread. Usually it's pretty easy, but like the problem I had with the January thread (and why the poll isn't posted), I couldn't find pics of a nominee's car.

I've got it in the rules for FOTM that the person doing the nomination must notify the nominee and get pics. If pics aren't supplied, the nominee is disqualified. The admin has enough to do without having to search all over for pics and if the nominator/nominee can't be bothered to supply pics then apparently it doesn't mean enough to them. Just my '02.

I'm an admin of my own site that I'm trying to grow, so I know what you mean Paul. I have like no members, but it's still a bunch of work getting it set up and maintaining it. I'm definitely still going to be around here, but I had gotten to the point where I wasn't spending time in 94-95 anymore because I was a supermod and was floating about the entire site. I would imagine that I'll still be doing that with tech stuff, but without the moderation responsibilities, it gives me more time to actually participate, instead of moderate.

I was always doing something from a moderation standpoint, a lot of which was never seen. Banning spammers before they ever made it to the site (I actually have banned over 450, according to how many posts I had in the ban list in our staff forum), fixing titles, fixing URL and IMG tags, and still reading stuff to make sure everyone is behaving. The time spent adds up and I had decided that it was time to let it go because I had some resentment toward the job, because I never really found the time to participate anymore. My hat is off to the guys and gals who have done it longer than I did. I was on staff for 2 1/2 years and I think maybe I took it a bit too seriously, to the point of burning myself out with it. It's in my nature to help and try to keep things running smoothly and efficiently, so I did, but I should have let some of the other mods take care of more, rather than trying to run the whole show myself at times. Maybe I'll go back to it down the road, but for now it's just nice to be one of the guys again. :)

Well im glad you feel a sense of relief out of getting from under the load of the work.

Sometimes it is more satisfying to just be one of the guys vise "the guy".

Anyway you decide to take i hope the best for you!
