Had to do it! Back to 2 chamber flows!

The new super 44's flow better there a different design the the older flows..But still have that aggresive sound..Had them on my stock 93 GT vert sounding heavy but i want something different i think for the 87..Im so confussed on what exhaust to use on my 87...It has so far BBK shorty headers...Bassani X pipe with high flow cats..well it had high flow cats there gutted now:D..Just dont know what cat back to use...It is supercharged and should make around 350 rwhp...so i want something that flows nice but sounds mean....Any ideas?

Around here you can't go 5 minutes standing on any street corner without seeing a Mustang of one year or another. They almost all have Flows on them. It's like you know what's coming before you see it. That's cool...but then there's my car and people know when I'M coming and they know who's car it is because nobody around here has Magnaflows on a 5.0 (or if they do they don't come out very often with them). There's a gas station at the end of my road, and there's this young kid who works there and the last time i was in there to get gas he told me he's having withdrawls from not hearing my car go by. He said "man i get wood every time you drive by in that thing". I can guarantee you people aren't saying that about every Flowmaster Mustang that drives by. Not because it doesn't sound good, but because it sounds like every other car that passes by. That's why i run what i run. It's not so much that i do it because other people like it because i also prefer them to the Flows, it's just a big added bonus.

Anyone have the magnapacks?...or borlas..I want something different too...I do love the sound of spintechs too...

I love my magnapacks. I have a video in my sig if you wanna listen to it.

Well said :flag:

What I find commic is when people spend big money on these expensive catbacks and even if it does give it a different sound, it's just another mustang if it has stock headers and stock H pipe. IMO, longtubes make all the difference, and I don't take people seriously who have shorty headers, chrome wheels, or speaker boxes.

Huh? So someone can't have a good performing car that has shorty headers, chrome wheels, or subwoofers? Alright, don't take my car seriously then.

Well they can, and I guess it doesn't really matter to me now because life has other priorities and I'll never live that live again, but when I used to really race, anything on the car that could slow it down that was purposly put there was just showing someone's priorities. My current car will never probally be raced the way my old one was... because getting in that kind of trouble isn't worth it.

Racing gets you in trouble? Shiny wheels make you slow? And you can't take someone seriously with subs.
My friends 9.9* car has a sub and shiny wheels. I can't
take it seriously either....

I have shorty headers and 2 10's mounted where my spare tire was. i don't have chrome wheels tho.

However, if you "don't want to take my car seriously" then let's meet at a track of your choice! We could put some money on it in which I will buy YOU, when I walk you, some chrome wheels and a subwoofer!:rlaugh:

I hear ya! And agree to some degree, but i don't see a lot of foxes around here. But, I am 40 years old and a 5.0 fox with flows was the sound that really got me when i was 17-18! Kinda like glasspacks or cherry bombs for the generation or two before me.

Getting rid of my Magnaflow cat back and going back to the good olde fashined american thunder cat back! 40 series two chambers!!

I did like my magnaflow which is all satinless etc. but it doesn't have "that" signature sound that started it for me back in the late 80's early 90's.

I might give up a few ponies, but I don't care!

If anyone wants a SS Magnaflow cat back let me know.
:nice: I've been planning on switching back for a while but I haven't been able to justify spending more money on exhaust parts (my exhaust has been through a ton of changes). The Magnaflows were cool for the time when I wanted to tone down my exhaust but I've never been crazy about the sound. They sound pretty good on my '90 but flat as all hell on my '92. They do sound HOT on 85_SS_302_Coupe's car. Eventually I'll switch back to 3-chamber Flows. I've never been concerned with how common they are. If it sounds good to meI'll run it.

I more than likely will run them again. I love changing exhaust. When you have the right setup you can swap out just the mufflers in less than an hour with just 4 clamps and its the easiest way to make a car feel new again. Eventually i'll have a collection of mufflers for this reason. I want another set of one chambers and another set of macs. The magnas sound awesome once youre moving but i dont like the idle as much as a chambered muffler.

I just got my car out for a bit since the snow is melted enough to get it out of its parking spot. I'm about to do an intake and carb swap and i was playing with my coil so i took it around the block....let me tell ya, forget what i was saying about switching mufflers :rlaugh:

I swear it's like crack...one hit and you're hooked. There is NOTHING like Magnaflows and an X pipe at 7k. It sounds like a top fuel dragster. If i get it out again today i'll try to get video since i haven't shot one in a while.
