t 45 tranny question

k so i broke 3rd and 4th shift fork for the 2nd time now and i was wondering if they make any stronger parts to put in these trannys

i donno if they do, but i went threw 3 of them T45's i put a tr3650 in my cobra and so far so good. good luck man. pretty sure you can get a tko tranny.

they will help you get everty thing you need or you can just buy a up-graded trans from them.

my 01 has a t45... car has 110,000 miles and if i try to shift it fast it'll grind and not go in gear.. i have to shift very slow and smooth then it works fine. Did yours have a problem like this before it broke? I'm thinking maybe my syncro's are shot.

no mines always shifted smooth but ive had new syncros put in mine awhile back but that does sound like a syncro problem i just keep breaking shift forks this will be the 3rd time ive had my tranny out replacing stuff

mind me asking how much / what is involved in changing those syncro's?

i think i paid like 200 bucks for the syncro kit and i had somebody that new what they were doing put them in idk exactly what it consist of but they r really small parts

My T45 has forks from Hanlon. I've had them for several years now and so far so good. I'm definately not nice to them too.

i went with pro-motions cryo treated fork so i guess ill see how well it holds up

there is a guy on the corral who makes billet units, kinda pricey but they are massive and strong.

Sure, you can make the forks stronger, but the syncros and blocking rings will be the next thing to go. So I don't think you need a super heavy massively strong fork. You still have to be careful with the tranny.

There is a guy on ModularMisfits named Zak Harty. His dad has done some work with these shift forks design and build wise to really make them stand up. He would be my suggestion along with Bangin' Bob Hanlon.

I put those billet 3rd/4th teeth in my T45 to replace the stamped steel ones. I got them from Astro Performance. I couldn't really find any parts to beef up a T45, that's all I found. I mean, they had a 26 spline input shaft but I wasn't spending the big money on that.

Other than those 3 tiny teeth, my T45 was stock and I ran that for years with a blower on my 96 Cobra with no issues. You just can't miss shifts and power shift. I ran mine at the track a lot and did a lot of street racing and never broke anything.
