So you have a system in a non running car??

Well since you got the stereo equipment for even trade and there's nothing more you can do until parts arrive, I'd say there's nothing wrong with it. It gives you a chance to explore other parts of the car and notice things that may be out of the ordinary. And above all else, it keeps you interested in your project!
I see it a lot of times, people begin waiting for parts to come in and occupy themselves with something else, then the car takes a back burner because they find that "other" thing to be more entertaining than turning wrenches on their car. I've been guilty of such things in the past myself! lol

You're going to run into trouble mixing and matching those harnesses like that. The wiring goes to different places with the different harnesses. You're best bet is to locate a 94/95 EEC, EEC harness and engine harness. This way everything will connect right up and work. If you go into mixing the different harnesses you'll be in no mans land, which will involve countless hours of studying wiring diagrams and getting power to the proper places. It can be done if you're willing to give it the time.
I had to do that for the v8 I put in my s10 (didn't want to order a $700 harness)

Bought a set of these, $130. Deciding if I want to paint them or deal with the imperfections......
the bullitt rims just don't do it for me.. I'd rather have the OEM's you picked up Jamee. JMO.
I wanted an amp for my door/rear deck speakers, so I bought 17 of them... lol
