Overrated fox upgrades and trims

Also dig the 10-holes. They look good and are definitely stealth/sleeper. I can vision a totally stock exterior with widened 10-holes out back and a monster under the stock hood.
while ill not say that the brakes on my vert are great ive never had a problem stopping in time to avoid an accident, but I drive my fox very defensively. mine are stock with the MM upgrade kit and pony wheels.
The coupe thing....you have to own one and spend some quality time driving one and THEN go back to driving a hatch, to appreciate a coupe. No giant blind spot from the hatch, way less rattling, less road noise (although not MY car lol). That said, if i could own both i would totally own another GT or a Cobra in a heartbeat. I don't knock dislike, i just prefer coupes.
All black interior....i love it. But i do like two tone, just more black than the other color. My favorite is sand beige 4 eye interiors accented in black.
5 lug...well, it just depends on the wheels and the car. I think 5 spoke style rims are better looking with 5 lugs, but i wouldn't do the swap just for that reason. For me it's about getting better brakes and then if you're going to get 5 lug anyway then better looking rims are just a bonus. Until i get into brake mods, i'll be sticking with my 4 lug ARE's. I may even look into getting some nice 4 lug rotors and better calipers and call it done.
And 10 holes are AWESOME. Mark my words, when all of you are old and these cars are 40 years old, 10 holes will be the wheel to have. They'll be the wheel everyone wants because when you think of these cars stock in their prime, 10 holes were likely what they rode on more so than Ponys which were only used for a couple years and pretty much everyone hates turbines.

Hatch vs notch is just a personal opinion. All I wanted was a fox GT with a sunroof, but I found my 89 from the original owner, all stock with 79K miles for $4,250. I couldn't say no.
Most overrated upgrades:
*BBK cold air intake. They look cheesy and ugly, and probably don't add much if any HP.
*Small engine mods. I'll probably catch crap for this, but it's a waste doing 24lb injectors, an aftermkarket intake, under drive pullies, etc for someone who doesn't go to the track, and runs around on stock sized tires. Some ET Drags would give more pick in the pants than dropping $500+ on a handful of small engine mods.
*Small nitrous shots. Oh wow, 75 horsepower for what, $500. Then you need a bottle warmer, purge kit, fuel pressure gauge, nitrous gauge, etc. Plus you keep having to refill the bottle.
That's my opinions. A had a couple friends in high school doing all the above. I didn't do a single one of those, and saved my paychecks for a vortech. One kid did a GT40 head/intake swap with a 150shot, and slicks. He was the "fast" one in our group. Once my S-Trim was on, he kept bugging me for a race. He caught up to my in the interstate, and started to give me the 3 honks. We ran from 60-110, and I was just pulling on him a bit on the top end. It was a damn good race. He tells the story of "you almost kept up with me."
Whatever. I didn't argue as I'm not about to get involved in drama.

For all that, a gear swap would net you more fun and faster ET's. Those other mods are the things you do when you can do them for super cheap and when you've done all you can and you're looking for anything left in a combo.
I'd say the most UNDERRATED mod is junkyard heads. Way too many people are uptight about throwing a ton of money into junkyard heads and saying you have to put $100s into them to freshen them up and all that....screw that crap. Just bolt on some non P GT40s and it's night and day. You don't even have to swap out the cam...just the heads alone is a huge seat of the pants increase, and the cam is icing on the cake. It's stupid to spend a ton of money freshening up heads to put on a 100k+ engine that probably needs rings and bearings anyway.

Coupes are still way cool. I could not find one, so I built my hatch toy from a $50 hatch. Then coupes started falling at my door, and I still have two, one four and one dead 5.0. Still love my Draglites! I stocked up on four lug wheels, so I don't need to go five lug.
Would not spend any money to have a black interior though. Bullitt has one, it's nice but it does get warm sitting in the sun all day.

So what are convertibles -- chopped meat?Personally I like the REAL good visibility out of those! Just starting the resto/mods on my 86k '91, and I think I will start with suspension work before the blower goes on. Any input on subframe connectors and springs?
Maximum Motorsports and Eibach Prokit.
My thoughts on them are "Yuk".....but that's a personal preference. Not something I would consider an over, or underrated feature.

Verts are coupes that had their roof chopped off. Saleen wings are not my thing but look ok on the right car. Interestingly enough they make much down force..Steeda tested them along with the LX and GT wings and found the LX makes the most.
Yep thats why the Steeda wing looks like an extended LX, it basically is. Since the LX made the most down force i guess they figured more of the same is good.
I'm on the fence with the 5lug swap. I like the idea of Cobra breaks but not sure about what wheels I would run. I really like my 17x8 Black Saleen 4lug replicas. Alot of the 5 lug wheels are 17x9 which requires bigger tires. Not sure how the car would ride with that much rubber in the front either.

I agree with 2 out of 3. A 5-lug car with a full all-wheel disc conversion is impressive to me and something I'm definitely envious of. You get an actual braking improvement along with looking cooler. On that note, a co-worker of mines has a Fox GT with a full brake upgrade. I have no idea what brakes he's running, maybe a Cobra kit, but it looks awesome. And again, it's an effective upgrade not just visual. Junkyard upgrades are cool too considering the money saved vs being clean and shiney (though probably bigger as well). Tossing on some 5-lug drum brakes is not "impressive" but if you just want the increased choice of wheels go for it.
Coupes, obviously they're cool but not my preference. Where I grew up, Pasadena Ca, coupes are quite common so I'm not as wowed by them. I almost bought one before picking up my '92. I was set on a dark gray AOD 89 Coupe but when I got to the guy's house he had a white 5-speed '92 Coupe sitting there. First of all this car was CLEEEEEAN. A white coupe with black interior and I mean it was spotless. The problem? $15k Umm, how about "no", Scott?
I'm also middle of the road on black interior. It can look really good but I think I would tire of it after a while. Imo, it makes the interior feel smaller (if that makes sense). I've always preferred a lighter interior.

I've always liked the Saleen wing but I do prefer it on a car with a body kit. Saleen wing on a coupe just does not work for me (kit or no).
